scoobaroo Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Just back from Crail, where the weather held out for a few pb`s to be set, well done to Jac, Peter and Nanaki to name a few [Y] Good turn out from the Scoobie crew to take up the Vdub challenge thrown down, unfortunately this didnt materialise due to the weather [st] Still had some good runs with a few of them tho, and the tasty 911, now if only we could spend that kinda money on our cars [] Marty.
scoobzie Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 tes it was a good day but thats me to next year until i get mods done will have to wait i just cant seem to break the 14 second barrier but all that will change soon anyway cheers to jac marty chris mc gymser nanaki for the good day and some good advicefrom people hope you all made it home safe and broke some records i did manage a personal best till next time cheers scoobzie
nanaki Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Let me make sure I have got this right. Step 1. Get to Crail. Check Step 2. Set new PB. Check Step 3. Get home again. Check WOHO!! Didn't break anything on the car this time. Indeed it was a good day out. Weather held out as long as it could and the wind was good for the intercoolers at least. Have to say based on the drive up I wasn't hoping for much but turned out well. First run for me turned out to be my best. 13.58 seconds. Defiantly got a damn near perfect launch on it. My 60 foot time was always worse after that. And then the run home was a good blast as always with a stop back at old inns to enjoy a tank of V-power at Unleaded prices. If you haven't been yet you should go. It's just fun.
blueboy88 Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 []n14.04 on my first outing at crail in a scooby well happy at that ! hope to do a lot better with the new one next time. thanks to all for a good day even with the little rain [um]
GaryD Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Was a really good day today, as above, wasn't hoping for much with the terrible weather on the way up but turned out good in the end. Managed to set myself a new PB so well chuffed... just need to get some more mods in the coming months and get the times down even further! Congrats to everyone else who was happy with they're new improved times... especially the Kirky Greek, that will be a tough one to beat, wonder if the REX will step up to the challenge! []

kenny4130 Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Was the Porsche a brand new blue one by any chance? My mate was there today in his new 997, so it might have been him. I was planning on going up today to give him a race but didn't bother due to the weather. We were both at Knockhill on Friday evening and he couldn't pull me on the main straight, so I was looking forward to seeing what would happen on the 1/4 mile. Oh well, he'll keep! []
GaryD Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Yeah was a blue one, not sure if it was brand new or not. I was speaking to him, think he was running about a best of 12.5 or there abouts.
ColinVW Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Good day, throughly enjoyed it even tho' it was a bit slippy for my wee Golf. Got gubbed by Marty[] but I'm sure he's too much of a gentleman to mention this [] Best was 14.000 @ 105.9mph
RS Grant Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 105.9mph... thats the important bit mate, thats a very quick car you've got. FWD and 1/4 miles arent ideally suited in perfect conditions, when things are a bit slippy then you're really up against it. Great time though. [H] Cheers, Grant
fai17 Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Yes thanks to everyone for a great day out....it's what makes this club. The whole day was such a laugh as per usual and i don't think there was any causalties apart froma few PBs being broken[] The run up was lead by Marty but i think he took us through the scenic route but the run back was a different kettle of fish altogether! Just brill[] and big congratulation to Jac for his PB[Y]
_jac_ Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Yes brilliant day !!! A bit wet sometimes but when it did dry out conditions were ideal for put in some good times. Well done every one for braking there PB [Y]
scoobymark Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Yes thanks to everyone for a great day out....it's what makes this club. The whole day was such a laugh as per usual and i don't think there was any causalties apart froma few PBs being broken[] The run up was lead by Marty but i think he took us through the scenic route but the run back was a different kettle of fish altogether! Just brill[] and big congratulation to Jac for his PB[Y] Definately a great day out, the run up was a bit too slow, mark jnr thought jac's car was playing up again, or we were going to sunday school[] But peter soon sorted this on the way down, a different kettle of fish!! one highlight we nearly forgot was that workman diving for cover when jac's car made an almighty pop! LOL Mark PS Jac thanks for the oil top up later on after we got home.... could'nt believe that shell garage wanted £13.99 for 1 litre of synthetic oil, no danger i was giving them that sort of dosh!!
_jac_ Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 I had to give Marty a call on the way up to say my cold air induction was sucking in water, thats why the pace was slow, sorry my fault. The workman was funny as, but when you go to the bank on a Monday morning its a different story altogether, totally embarrassing. Andy " JAC are you sure you won't the pops and bangs " JAC " Yes Andy no prob give it some mate " I think a trip back to Andy is immanent soon [:$] Mark your welcome any time mate. Peter thats more like it mate, thats the run back home we like [Y]
fai17 Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 I remembered the workman diving for cover when Jac car was giving mighty pops and bangs...lol We should go that route next time then?
