  1. Cheers Craig. Think i'll just go for the mintex ones.... As i said earlier, car will never be on the track and i don't do a lot of miles and certainly don't belt about in it very much.....
  2. Currently looking at brake pads as well. Been told that Ferodo DS2500 would do the trick. . Alyn at AS Performance phoned me today, £130 delivered for a set.. Was kinda thinking if there are alternatives at a cheaper price ( but still good quality) Whats the story with these mIntex ones Craig ?
  3. Thanks again for the advice. I'll speak to the inlaw about the bias valve thingy ma jig... When the car went thro the MOT a few months ago the garage owner ( good guy ), said that the brakes were fine... It's just that feeling that they have, as you said.. A bit dead... Mines is a 99 as well with standard brakes. A change in pads and fluid will not do any harm tho.
  4. I'm not a major mechanical person but even i can see that it is not good... I hope you get it sorted at a decent price... Had a wee smile at the crimbo kitchen roll tho
  5. It was 10/40 semi i put in mines.... That was after asking for advice on here when i first got the turbo
  6. Hope you get it sorted Frank... I'm glad it's not just me who doesn't really know what they're looking for under the bonnet... Just as well there's decent folk on here who know their stuff....
  7. Will just go for new pads on the front and change of fluid.. Hopefully that'll make it stop Our other car , V plate Puggy 406 currently stops better... The scoob never really gets driven hard.... well not by me.... have seen the wife driving it tho Just as well my brother in law is a mechanic and will do it all for a couple of beers.... Ah bless him.. Thanks for all the advice.... Didn't mean to hijack the thread... Tis better than starting a new one about the same thing i suppose..
  8. Cheers matey. Will do.
  9. Cheers for that.. Any specific place does good deals or is it a case of shop around.?
  10. To answer the two chaps on here, ask yourself what you intend to do. If you don't have shedloads of power and only use it for road, i'd look at pads and keep to std discs assuming you've got the std Subaru 4 pots on the car. If not, get some secondhand. Sounds good for me mate.. What pads would be best for a nearly standard 99 wagon ?
  11. Interesting stuff. Keep the advice coming folks.... Not looking to hijack your thread tho mate I'm currently looking for advice to help my car stop as well. I don't have a lot of dosh tho. Noticed that i can get a set of disks for £160 ish on ebay amongst other sites.. What pads tho. I don't do a whole lot of miles... Just the wife and my cousin have both had a shot of the car recently and were scared sh##less when they tried to stop... I presume classics have keek standard brakes..
  12. That is bad news indeed...
  13. Hello and welcome mate. Glad you're enjoying the car
  14. Think it looks good.. I took off my stickers... unsure if i done the right thing now..
  15. Same as you mate....
  16. Happy New Year to all of you. I hope everyone has been enjoying themselves when i've been working Well..... People sometimes call it work.

  18. I'm with you there matey
  19. 16 year old little dirt bag... The great British judicial system is letting everyone down mate. You have no idea how demoralising it is to a copper when they get the bad guy, do a MOUNTAIN of paperwork, lock them up to appear at court.... Then old Judge fartpants lets the little bugger go ... usually on bail that he doesnt do more crime....
  20. Great photos Neil , car is looking super clean. It won't stay that way for long tho
  21. Well further to my previous post at the start of October.. The same wee scrote has been at it again..... This time a dark blue M reg saloon turbo made off from the police earlier tonight in Musselburgh... Then a wee while later, a shop in Ashley Terrace, Edinburgh gets broken into and fags etc nicked... 3 hoodies seen in car making off from the shop.. Car is seen at high speed later in Niddrie area where it is aboandoned and they run off. 2 get caught and fags etc recovered.... oh and surprise ... it's the same lad who had been stealing scoobs earlier in september Car had been hot wired..... They should hang the wee sods....
  22. :frosty: Guilty your honour......................... Your car sounded braw mate... Must be some noise when the bung is out :xmas:
  23. Morning and welcome.
