  1. You are all invited to attend the SMACS SUMMER FUN DAY at Buxton Raceway in the High Peak.

     http://www.multimap.com/maps/#t=l&map=...4|BUXTON|Buxton

The event will cost £15 per car, with unlimited access to the circuit, childrens activities, traders, show & shine competition and much more. The fun starts at 10pm and finishes at 5pm.

Bring all your club members up to sunny Buxton Raceway for the scooby event of the North West. Invites are going out to yourselves, LADS, WYIOCS, SSC and MIDLAND SCOOBYS and I'm also opening the day to members of the PISTONHEADS forum in the North West area.

I've been up a few times to scout out the venue, and I can honestly say it's going to be a great place to hold a bbq. There is plenty of room for all the clubs to have their own areas, although we're not doing any stand competitions. You'll also be able to go on track whenever you like, just join the queue :D

See you all on the 26th [:)]

Get your name on the scoobynet thread if you're coming along [:D] http://bbs.scoobynet.com/northern-21/60925...tml#post6964060

  2. Yes iam going to make some phone calls tomorrow and get this sorted.

CADS is going to go forward from this point on.

When we get new members we are going to keep.

Things are going to change let me tell you.

Does that mean you didn't enjoy the SMACS meeting [:)]

Glad you and Bob are goining to resolve the issues.

Martin, I think this means Warbys been rejuvinated by the SMACS meet :P

All the best to you Pete, think we'll have to come visit you next month :)

  3. Hope you have a good meet you guys and gals, looks like your going to get a good turnout face-icon-small-smile.gif I'm just popping up to say don't forget to take your cash or card with you, because once you've had a go of Graham's CG-LOCK equipped car, you'll be wanting to buy one face-icon-small-smile.gif Thanks to you guys for the heads up on this product, and to Graham for kindly demonstrating it last night to the SMACS group.

    Definatly recommended.

We had some of you chaps over here last night too, and your more than welcome to come again in the future face-icon-small-smile.gif We also had stickystuff from the WYIOC and CHEESY from the almost defunct South Yorkshire Scoobys. We've been in talks with the WYIOC for a mid-month, mid-week meet probably sometime in March, I'll let you know some details nearer the time, but meeting place could be the SNAKE PASS INN in Derbyshire face-icon-small-smile.gif

    See you all soon,

    chris.

  4. hello all, and thanks to richard for pointing this area out to me face-icon-small-smile.gif

I've posted the original thread in the iom 2006 area, doh! Anyway, we're coming over on Friday 14th April and we're all staying at the Hilton (we're all well loaded from scoobynet face-icon-small-smile.gif) So far, we've got a total of 28 people coming over, which includes partners and kids! I'm under the impression that most of us are coming over on the dinnertime ferry from Liverpool, and going back on the bank holiday monday at the same time.

We are looking to drive all of your best roads in the time over there, so were not afraid to go out at night, or early morning to do that. In fact, the saturday morning has been suggested that we leave the partners and kids at the hotel, and go for a blast first thing face-icon-small-smile.gif

Were all really looking forward to meeting you guys over there, and hope you can show us all a good time.

A number of us have booked into the Hilton room only, so we'd be looking for places to eat in the evening, that would do you proud, I'm sure you know somewhere face-icon-small-smile.gif

    See you in April,

    Chris.

  5. hello all, marv, marvsti5 off scoobynet, has organised a trip over to see you lot on the bank holiday easter weekend in April. I've already been in contact with Richard who runs the petrol station over there (just the one! face-icon-small-smile.gif) and he's said he'll gladly show us around, as long as his knees are up to it face-icon-small-smile.gif

This is the list of people coming over, and all are so far staying in the Hilton.

  6. stear well clear malky, they are from all accounts well dodgy. My tyre fitters brother and sister have both had cars off them, and both had a lot of trouble with the cars after purchase. His sister bought an evo 5, which turned out to have broken rear suspension! The cars are cheap for a reason, you gets what you pays for face-icon-small-smile.gif

Do a search on scoobynet for them, and you can read some other nice stories about thier practises.

    Chris.

  7. Hello CADS face-icon-small-smile.gif Chris here, just popped over from scoobynet to say hi, and ask where you sense of humours gone? face-icon-small-smile.gif

As you can see, I'm in the process of relaunching the SMACS, which has hit a lean period over the last year. I'm sure your club has seen membership rise and fall over the years, and when it gets down to just the hardcore, as it has with ours, a push for members is in order to refresh everyones awareness of the group.

I hope you took my comments about meeting you guys in the way it was meant, as a joke, as it looks to me that your doing a very good job with your group meets and events, and I can't see anyone wanting to defect to "our" side face-icon-small-smile.gif

Looking forward to meeting up with you all maybe in february, as our meets look like they are going to coincide on the 1st thurs of the month face-icon-small-smile.gif

Have a great xmas all, and tipsy new year,

    see you all soon,

    chris.

ps, your all more than welcome to join us on our relaunched all new smacs new year meet, hopefully the 1st thursday in january face-icon-small-smile.gif

  8. I've been advised by dougster to post this message here, rather than scoobynet, so hope you all get to see this face-icon-small-smile.gif

After attending the excellent scoobyball 3 this year in february, organised by salsa-king, he has now bowed out of organising #4, so I've taken up the reins. The event will be a black tie dinner, disco, entertainer and maybe a charity auction. I am hoping to get someone from the subaru world to come as guest of honour (I've approached Richard Burns management company, no reply as yet!)

The event will be held in the manchester area on the 5th march 2005. I need an idea of numbers, so I can sort out a suitable hotel, and plan the day.

Could you please visit this page on scoobynet just to put your name on the list, so I can get the ball rolling. Salsa-king planned it in a year, I've got 5 months! face-icon-small-sad.gif

Thanks, and I hope you can make it.

See you on the "raid across the border" in november face-icon-small-smile.gif

    chris.
