  4. car is a 2000 uk model with full dealer history and only 41k...not chipped or messed with. it has just started to give a heavy knocking sound from the engine,if i leave the car for a while and re-start it it knocks very hard for the first couple of micro seconds then quietens down,as the oil presure builds up... i doubt it's the big ends/crank bearings or such a low mileage engine ??? do they have hydralic tapppets that could be stickin ??? any advice greatly appreciated.. i live in county durham if anyones local
  5. cheers guys, what sort of things can go wrong.... i.e. what sort of price is a turbo ? what sort of price is an engine ? can i chip a std u.k. car to get 280bhp+,if so who and were is best ? why is there a power differance between a wrx (import) and a u.k version ?
  6. hi,i am thinking of investing in a scooby, will have about 6k,what can i get and what is the differances between sti, wrx, etc ..... my mate has just bought a 91 wrx import for £4300 and i love the sound of em !!!! in the airscope on the bonnet, part of the air goes threw the intercooler and part of the air is directed onto the turbo,is this common on inports as my mate at work has not got this feature what are they liked compared to cossies as i have had a cossie and the price of engine parts is stupid, plus they blow up all the time and need rebuilding at about 80,000,what sort of advice can anyone give...
