About Jeremy A

  1. I was passing a Q8 garage the other day and noticed they are selling superUL 98. Didn't get chance to check out the price though or if it contains as many goodies as optimax
  2. I joined this club before I joined the site in April and I still haven't found the members area. Could anyone point it out to me?
  3. Derek of the Pentlands ceilidh band - pleased to meet you. I don't know Bob but he does play with the Ceilidh Minogue band, I often go out with Gregor and Aldo. Of course Gavin and I never gig together as we are both fiddle. I have never been in the Blackmill inn, is that the one near the Carronshore shops on the corner? I would never have guessed there would be a session there. I pass it at least 5 times every week I've recently been to quite a few sessions at the Hogs head Stirling on Wednesdays, and I hear the Whistlebinkies sessions on Sundays are starting up again, actually I think they started last Sunday after a break. I won't make it up to Shetland for various reasons but I wish I was. I'm sure it will be funky! One of my friends got a job on the fair Isle and I've always wanted to go up to visit along with the festival. Who's there this year?. We'll have to get togeter and have a blether, if you can bring yourself to associate with a lowly MY 96 turbo waggon with over 105,000K on the clock . I have never seen your motor around town but it must be quite something! Shame there isn't a little icon on the forum for envy! LOL. I'l be going to visit Derek over the next few days so perhaps we could all meet up then in the meantime please contact me here if you want, especially with that list of players or a list of gigs youy need a fiddler for. Cheers for now, Jeremy
  4. Shame it has to go M8 just think though there will be a place waiting for the next Scooby on the drive at the new house
  5. Looks fantastic mate. Must make it much faster! lol It certainly looks very fast. I'm sure everyone and anyone will be trying to out run you now though.
  6. Cheers Derek, any help would be gladly appreciated If you would be good enough to contact me herewe can arrange a time to get together. I'm frequently in Stenny
  7. Thanks Derek, I work in Falkirk, he and I will have to get together for a tune ( no pun intended). I've just posted a thread in which I was asking if you would consider doing any engine work like you said in your post earlier? are you interested? Cheers, J
  8. Hiy'all. My Scoob has started spluttering when at very low revs when you put your foot down, backfiring when taking your foot off the gas and letting the revs drop, backfiring during a gear change at high revs, and sometimes having a very low tickover. I have recently had fitted a downpipe since which the backfiring has started and about a month ago a prodrive back box which was when the spluttering started. Is this an ECU problem? I'm scarred s+++tless my engine ends up like Derek's engine rebuild or of joining the DIEC Any ideas? MY96 UK waggon. K&N induction kit, magnex downpipe, prodrive back box PS if you were serious bout doing Scooby work to enhance the rebuild fund Derek I may take you up on the offer!
  9. Hiya Derek. Ta for grtting back to me. I play in several bands amongst which are Ceilidh minogue, Craigenroan, Darloch, others sometimes put togethr for the gig! I play all over the country and sometimes out in the middle east and Azebaijahn for the Caledonian societies. What pubs do you have your sessions in? I'm near Stirling and there are plenty of sessions in full swing here at the moment. If you ken any players who might be free for some gigging sometime I would appreciate getting in touch with them, as you ill be away to Gateshead. I'll know who to ask if a gig comes up down there though! Please gi'z a shout and I'll come over to one of your sessions if not to far, I assume as Pentlander you're near Edinburgh? Anyway I'll come over in the Scooby and we can compare notes! (ouch, sorry couldn't resist that one) Cheers, Jeremy PS I'm a fiddler
  10. It's been a good night on the Chardonnay here but must stop now as early start in the morning. Worth being fresh for as it's a day in the Scoob all day. cheers
  11. Derek R, do you play the accordion? I sometimes need a box player for the band. Feel free to contact me here if you want. Cheers, Jeremy
  12. If I remember righly there was a step by step guide with photos in an edition of True Grip a few months ago, maybe April?
  13. Sounds like a fantastic quote Dancing H ! When they gave me the runarround they asked told me it would have to be fitted with an alarm. When I had sussed out one I thought appropriate I phoned to ask if it was suitable for them. They told me I didn't need the alarm but an immobiliser and a tracker. I had very nearly spent £200 on an alarm I didn't need! The car already had an immobiliser and the dealer faxed them the details they had asked for and I had the tracker installed. Then They came back and said they wanted more details of the immobiliser so I sent them a copy of the istallation cert by fax. They lost the fax. I sent them another - they lost that too. I had spoken to approx a dozen operators and one line manager, and finally was in touch with customer services. They were the dept which lost the two faxes! I finally spoke to someone with executive status, and sent him the details by fax, a copy by email, and a copy recorded delivery by post, and asked that they send confirmation of receipt, which he did not. All the time I was going through with this they were sending letters saying that if I didn't send the documents my insurance would be void! I was seriously considering paying the £200 difference (closest quote) to tesco and moving. I was truly at my wit's end! Hope you have success with your cover - that quote certainly does sound good. Cheers J
  14. Discount? their prices must be discounted allready! I saved over £100 from the quote I received for renewal of my policy. I have been with Direct line for 5 years ( Which was always the cheapest I found) and always found them excellent ay paying out but they gave me a massive runaound when i bought my Scooby 20 months ago which looking back now I am so glad to be going elsewhere. Despite having two cars and a house isured with DL for 5 years Liv Vic still better them and I am a new customer. The Other insurance polocies will probably be going to them too. I am also extremely impressed that if you provide evidence of upgrades ie reciepts etc they will increase the value accordingly. I Know I've only been a customer for 1 day but I'm delighted with the service so far. Thaks to all in the forum for the savings you have made me!
  15. Forgot to say, Mark, congratulations on leaving the Ferrari standing!
