About michael_brookes

  1. I approached a company in Thurrock about upgrading my engine, they have said that they would need to know what the emissions were. What the hell is he talking about, apparently because the car is an import that's the reason why he asks. My car is a 2005 WRX imported from Cyprus . Would appreciate some help in this matter . Thanks
  2. I have had a look at the scooby world website and I like the AFTERBURNER PERFORMANCE PACK £499.99 . can anyone tell me if this is any good , the website says it can increase the BHP by up to 20 bhp . Thanks
  3. I have been told by a reliable source that all Subaru main dealers must honour warranties to import buyers provided the service book is stamped by the person who sold the car to you . Subaru UK are supposed to issue a memo to all main dealers telling them that all import warranties are valid . If you have a main dealer who does not abide by the E. U regulations then they ( Subaru UK ) could be fined a very large amount of money . My advice is get in contact with office of fair trading who will be interested in this problem if you get no joy from the main dealer . If any of you out there are having differculties then contact me and I will try and arrange for the letter I got sent to my main delaer telling them to validate the warranty . E-Mail me on smiler1957@hotmail.com.
  4. My WRX 05 has got a stiff gear change which makes it harder to make a swift get away from the lights etc , is this a common thing with this model of WRX or do I have to buy a new gearshift . Can anyone help . CheersText
  5. Hello , Can you tell me how much it would cost to increase the horse power on my 05 WRX Impreza . The sort of power gain I would like is about 40-50 hp . Thankyou
  6. I bought my WRX from Virgin cars and I have found out that International Motors have spat their dummy out, they intend to invalidate all imported subaru's warranty . They are exploiting a legal loophole . I would advise all buyers of imported subaru's to find out from their supplier what the situation is . My supplier can get round this loophole. I have to supply a copy of my driving licence, My V5 logbook and a form from Virgin cars saying I authorise them to purchase an impreza on my behalf.
  7. I have been told if I disconnect the power leads to my battery for an hour then put them back on, the engine management system will reset to factory default . So if my WRX was running on normal unleaded and now it's running on super unleaded the performance will be better , is this right.
  8. I took delivery of my scooby on 1st Sept 2005 , it's now 18th October and I have clocked up 3090 miles . Is this excessive mileage ?
  9. If anybody out there can give me some accurate information about fitting a Prodrive to my WRX 05 (import) I would be eternally grateful. The problem i have got is because my car was bought from Cyprus I am being told that if I fit the prodrive it could , maybe invalidate my warranty . Unfortunately I Still have not received my service book . The car was bought from Virgin cars (Sheffield) . Would appreciate any help in this matter . Thanks
  10. Sorry, not familar with jargon yet , what is PM and can you give me his details so i can ring him. Cheers
  11. I have a main dealer who has got a prodrive kit waiting, but in my area I am having problems finding someone who can remap my car . Live in Kent area Thanks
  12. I need help , My car is a wrx 05 import from cyprus , I have been told that I cannot have a prodrive fitted because it will invalidate my warrenty is this true , or is there an alternative perhaps a remap? Would appreciate any comments .
