  1. The forerunner to the Manx Scoobyfest which I sorted. Awesome trips and you guys that came over hopefully enjoyed them.

In fact only yesterday added a photo from one year in the gallery section.

Who else was at the bottom of May Hill waiting for the roads to open with FAD's last event, I think we had around a dozen impreza's tagging on for a clear run over the mountain (which was closed for the event.

The clerk of the course even kept the road one way until we had also passed through the Bungalow after he had seen us all waiting for the roads to "Open" top man

Just wish I could afford one over here!

Even an old classic is 600,000 baht and at 43 to the Pound, it s expensive!

New WRX Sti was 3,800,000 when i inquired last year!

    Cheers

  2. friends just got a motor bike but doeant have any gear to ride on it.apart from an old helmet.

so wondering where to get decent bike safety gear but not over priced or stuff that will tear your arm off. either actualy places or websites i can give him to look.

there was a place in glasgow i knew about .it was like a big shop/warehouse depot thing that supplied alot of biker shops and sold at discount because you were getting it straight from them .but cant for the life of me remember the name.

    any help folks is appreciated.

Simple advice re the most important bit, your helmet.

Buy the most expensive you can afford!

  3. OK, it's not a Scooby.

BUT, be aware that any imported car here is subject to an import duty of up to 200% of Original cost.

Hence why a new Wrx Sti here in Chiang Mai is currently 3,800,000 baht = 78,000 GBP

  8. Have been a member since way back when (lifetime) so do not need to rejoin annually.

However, I would rejoin even though I no longer have my scooby.

I will do though one day, just need the spare 1.4 million baht for 2.0 RS or 3.8 Million baht for the A-line STi

Having been involved with motor(clubs) sport for 35 years, I know that membership goes up and down.

I still remember when back in the 80's my local club Smc Face-book nearly folded, we even had a "local" rival club come to the Agm thinking they were going to get all the equipment, events and stuff for nothing.

It did not happen and now 20 years on, there still going strong :)

So please keep faith and support your club, it will only get stronger.

I may be 8,000 miles away but I still log in nearly everyday and keep an eye on things.

Remember, you only get out that which you put in.

  10. I've just noticed not many of us wave at other scoobies round here. I'm probably a sad git, and have to remind myself waving at a scoobie from a van or my wife's espace is a bit daft and no wonder I get weird looks....

    Sorry.

I'm the numptie in the silver hawkeye spec D. looks like a WRX, goes like a wound up STi. ;)

Things have changed on the rock a bit I guess,

There always used to be a good few waving all over the place.

and don't worry about being in the works van cos the regulars will soon get to know it is you.

    Cheers

  11. hi all. I'm after some advice and tips. I'd like to take scruffy on holiday with me to europe. Scruffy is my classic impreza 2000 awd turbo.

Problem is i have no idea of what i need to do.

The trip will go from torquay where i live to france, then down to spain to barcelona and on way back thinking going to milan and then the nordscliffe infamous race track. The route planned at present stands just under 3000 miles. Going into france, spain, italy, switzerland, germany, belgium. Any advice is appreciated. Though one thing i need to definately check is my exhaust. It has full deact at moment. Have feeling switzerland might not like that lol.

Been across europe twice in my Hawkeye and had no problems anywhere at all.

Once to Corsica And later to Crete both from the Isle of Man.

    Just go and have fun.
