About Scooby_Driver

  1. Sorry to hear about that.Your best bet would be to try and source an sti5 engine complete, but they wont be dropping off trees.I have heard of a few sti engines melting like this.At the end of the day your car was mapped to run on 100 ron fuel although 103 is avail in Japan.Throw in some hard sustained driving and eventually the pistons, valves, block will disagree with our fuel.
  2. Thanks for all the replys. You lot are probably going to loathe me for this but the thing is im just a bit fed up with the RB5 at the moment and fancy a change. The Escort cossie in question has done 55k,full history, met blue,3 owners. The car actually feels more solid than the subaru as they were built by Karmann. It is just such a nice car,and i can tune it to well over 400 brake aswell.Sorry but i think i might do it.......i think.
  3. Well i have been doing a lot of research in to geting more power out of my RB5,but it seems that im not going to get over 280,realistically.The reason i want more is because a cossie left me.I really like the handling and grip of my car but on Thursday i had the opportunity to p/ex my RB5 for a 92 escort cossie, and the offer still stands. The cossie is 340bhp and it felt a lot quicker than mine when i drove it,especially above 3500 rpm and they are so rare you never see them.Im tempted.
  4. While driving on a fairly deserted duel carridgeway in my RB5 sat in the outside lane crusing at about 80 and i noticed a cosworth coming up behind me, so i gave it full bore in 4th and this cossie went up the inside of me and basically left me standing. It was a silver 4door and was on a Jplate, jesus that car was flipping devastating and iam gutted. How can i get more power?
