About DexWRX

  1. Still remember it after all this time.................. "You great useless spawny-eyed, parrot-faced wazak !"
  2. My apologies peeps, forgot earlier to thank everyone for all the "good luck" comments etc, as I was so taken with the new motor, so there you go.....................thanks, it`s much appreciated.
  3. WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I really do think it`s that good ! I picked it up this morning, and even though the weather has been absolutely crap here all day, I`ve still been able to open it up, and enjoy it. What a car ! It pulls from nowhere, handles like a dream, and grips like anything. How the roads aren`t full of these, by the way, I do not know, as they`re tremendous. I thought my PPP`d WRX was quick, but this is something else again, it really is ! You need almost only think about the overtake, and you`re gone, and then it just keeps on pulling until the shift-light comes on, and reminds you to change up. All in all, it`s a fantastic package, both to drive, and to look at, as the 18 `P-FF7`s have really set it off. So, that`s me done, and hopefully looking forward to a few good years motoring in this superb car......................................................
  4. Cheers gents. Remember when you were a kid, and your Mum and Dad used to say "If you go to bed early, it`ll be here sooner" ? Bit like that at the moment, but I`m just enjoying looking forward to it, if you know what I mean.
  5. Not long now, as I`m collecting my new steed tomorrow (or today, as it is now). I`m like a kid on Christmas Eve...........................
  6. My own personal opinion on this is that the Police should withdraw use of all Laser speed-detection equipment immediately, as there is now so much evidence to suggest that these things are not working correctly. I`m not saying that anything could be done about everyone convicted by the use of these (was done myself a few years ago), but, as a gesture of goodwill, and to restore public confidence, even if it`s only slightly, it should be done now, and without hesitation.
  7. Thanks mate, but it doesn`t apply any more now, as I had a choice of wheel by a dealer I nearly bought from yesterday (Friday), but, as it turned out, I bought from another dealer in the end, but thanks again anyway. See my other post re. car I`ve bought New buy
  8. << what colour wheels are on the car mate ? >> Think it`s anthracite Dave, they`re a sort of medium-grey colour anyway., and with the car being silver, it really sets it off. They`re immaculate as well, and have been on since new, so I don`t know how the previous owner`s managed to look after them (and the car) so well. TLC, I suppose........................
  9. << good luck with it mate...see you went for the fastest colour too >> Cheers Dave. I must admit, the 18`s really do go with the colour of the car. I`ll post some pics up when I get it.
  10. Thanks to all who contributed. Much appreciated.
  11. I have recently posted on here (and asked for/received advice) about changing my new(ish) MY05 WRX, which I bought earlier this year. On getting the Scoob earlier this year, and having never had one before (although motoring for more years than I care to remember), I immediately became hooked on a car that is a pleasure to own, and astounds me with it`s mixture of practicality, and outright madness (when required) . Despite then getting my WRX PPP`d, I still hankered after a drive of an STi, and I recently made the mistake of doing just that. I say "mistake", because, ever since, I have wanted an STi. Anyway, today, after some searching around involving hundreds of driven miles (as it does) I have ordered myself : An STi Type UK PPP, in silver, with 18` Prodrive P-FF7`s. It`s not a new one, as (admittedly) I lost too much on my WRX (which has put me off ever buying new again), but it`s an absolute minter on an 03 plate. Soooo.............I apologise if I`m full of myself tonight, but I can`t wait now to pick it up, which should be Wed/Thurs next week, and, having sampled the power, I thinik I`m even more excited than I was when I was waiting for the WRX.
  12. Zippy, it does sound to me mate as though yours is still at 225bhp, as, if it had been PPP`d you would be able to see the single tail pipe with the word "Prodrive" stamped on it in plain view. I know this as mine is PPP`d. IIRC it won`t be PPP`d anyway, as Subaru demand a chassis number from the dealer who is doing the work, before they will send out a new ECU. Yours would have come back as an import, and I`m almost sure they won`t PPP an import. Apparently you can get PPP done, but it has to be done by the country who supplied the car in the first place. As others have said, I`d be interested to know where they`re going to manage to get 40bhp from without a de-cat maybe, and an ECU re-map ? Good luck with it anyway, and I hope it works out, as it must be frustrating thinking you`ve been driving around with more power than you thought (not to mention the increase in insurance you must be paying.) Keep us all posted......................
  13. << right, but in gold or grey (sorry that's no help is it) >> Yeah, it is actually thanks, as these are just comparison pics, and the ones I`m looking at are more of a grey in colour.
  14. Which do you prefer to go on a WR blue Scoob, left or right ? Both are Prodrive BTW. Cheers. Wheels.
  15. I also attended the Tatton show today, and met a couple of the lads, including Bob (Blueboy ?), who was friendly and welcoming, and Rasher (with the awesome S202 ?). Again, thanks for the warm welcome gents, and BTW, all the cars at the Scooby stand looked immaculate, and were a credit to you all.
