  2. Gary hi, Did you mistake me for Pedals the other day near Ravenscraig ? If it was, sorry for not waving back. You caught me out not looking for Scoobs coming the other way !!! Just been nosing about the forum and seen the picture of your motor and figured out it might have been you. Nice looking machine. Pedals told me he knew of another in the area but hadn't seen you on the road before. Cheers Davie
  3. Raymie, Think I passed you the other day, you were coming out of that photo location as I was heading into the town. Nice looking motor in the flesh. Davie
  4. Ah the B-roads of Bute ........... bring it on. I'm way way way closer to the ferry than Pedals !!!! @Gary - What colour of motor have you got. I've probably seen you about, Noticed a shedload more Scoobs down my way recently. In fact, one of the other "fathers to be" at Ante Natal class turns out to own one too !!! Stuff talking about dilation and placenta when you can natter about the flat four !!!
  5. Good run tonight. A bit stop-start due to the lack of Navigators in the PAX seats at some cars at the back ;0) Roads were good, brakes got a bit warmed up !!! Plenty of nice motors there. And that stonking Yellow guest !!! Not seen one of those in the flesh for years. Very very nice - though your front near side headlight needs attention - spotted in my rear view mirror as we came out of the tunnel. Cheers to everyone who said hi, and to Billy for warning me about my jammed on Brake light. Good job I had spares in the glove box. As this was only my first of the year due to work commitments - I'd go for option 3 for future meets. Even in the dark... shades of the old (proper ) RAC setting off in the early hours of November mornings through wee country roads, lights a blazing - get the motors out on the road if the weather is not too bad. Mibbe's a wee jaunt down the coast to Largs etc ( via the back roads of course ) ?
  6. Ha ha, keep yer haun´s in yer pockets !! I´m back home next weekend, that´ll be me finished abroad so I´ll catch up with you soon to get a Pax run in this new beastie of yours.
  7. Was speaking to Pedals on Saturday afternoon and he mentioned that he was thinking about selling his Scoob ................... to get another one !!!! Nice one ......... and watch that Gourck Road End Roundabout with this one !!
  8. I guess alot has to do with how the car has been looked after. FSH should give you some level of assurance but I would recommend that you get a warranty of sorts. I replaced the engine on my MY95 WRX at 186,000Kms coz the big ends went. Probably in part to me neglecting to appreciate the Oil change frequency required by an engine with this level of mileage ( kilometres ). But up to that point it was running superb, no major problems really to report. I guess it will also depend on what if any Mods have been done, how well they´ve been done and how compatible they are with any other mods. There are many guys on here with far more technical knowledge than me so I´ll leave them to explain the ins and outs properly.
  9. Sorry never seen you wave back - must be those tints [H][H][H][H]
  10. Were you driving on Tuesday morning, along PRW at the Quay, then down over the bridge to the north side of the river ? You sneaked up on me and passed on the inside. I gave you a wave and a flash of the lights but couldn't see if you waved back.
  11. Cheers Back at ye !!
  12. Peter, I touch goats Cheers Davie
  13. Silver Classic - pink STi badge, Square Reg Plate, STi5/6 or Prodrive Spoiler Was driving into Aberfoyle saying to the co-pilot missus "I wonder if there are any car clubs out for a run today, maybe the Mini's or Elises" to which she just tutted. A quick gander left as we passed the car park and lo and behold a Scooby. Turned out left and followed us along the road as far as Forest Hills then turned into the Hotel as we continued along the road. If it was you, looked a nice clean car ( as opposed to mine which was boggin manky ).
  14. Robbo - wanted to make the point so much you had to post twice !![][][][][][][][] Do you not know how to use a computer ??? ha ha Hows is going mate - when we going to see you and yer motor at a Glasgow meet. On the topic, I didn't read the thread in question so do not know what stage it got to before it was pulled from the forum but I suspect that it was not the main point about the root cause of the complaint in question, perhaps just the nature/wording of one or more posts within the thread. I am of the same opinion to most posters in this thread, that it should be possible to post up legitimate critique of experience with main dealers - good or bad. Obviously negative criticism must not be libelous and be based on fact. If main dealers do understand that there is negative feedback within the recognised Drivers Club then that should be their prompt to improve the service to their customers. Its what any other business would do. Keep their customers happy. Especially with Subaru launching a new MY06 model this year, they would (should ) be looking for existing customers to perhaps upgrade to the latest version. Tuppence worth spent.
  15. Not seen the Herald yet but the "Motoring Correspondent" of my local chip wrapper done a wee piece on the MY06 WRX a couple of weeks ago. Basically a review of his Test Drive which took him over to the East Coast ( not specific which part the East Coast though ) for a day. Not much to the article which really seemed to be only a regurgitation of the marketing blurb ( 2.5 Turbo / 225 BHP / 0-60 Range of models available, WRX versus STi yadda yadda yadda ) and saying that the format of the car was a bit dated (??????) No comparison against previous models. No comments on the difference the bigger lump makes to torque etc etc. Money for old rope if you ask me. I cuold do that. BUT ..... the wee bit at the end of his journal said something along the lines of, that every time he passed another Scooby he got a wee wave or a blip of the lights and that put a smile on his face. So hats off to all you East Coast crew who might have waved a Journo out on a Test Drive !!
