  5. << White!!! it would be if i washed it a bit more often, and the only reason its been at Corkills is because my Son wrote off margys Honda Civic Type R! >> LOL. I was remarking to my better half the other day about the state of my car as I have not washed it for 2 weeks, then we passed Corkills and yours was parked up looking dirtier than mine! I reckon its far too cold at the moment to wash cars! Hope your son was not injured in the smash. Also talking of smashes has anybody seen this site before? It is amazing how many IOM cars there are on there (does that mean we are all bad drivers? Couldn't find any scoobs though take a look Looking forward to our first meet!
  6. << right ,one of you guys needs to become a regional organiser for the IOM >> I agree. We need somebody to arrange a meet here for the friendlies maybe once a month at the weekend? I would put my name down for the job but I am pretty useless at organising things. That side is down to my better half!!! How about a mini track day at Jurby (last time on the karts I snapped off a wheel!), A shandy at a pub somewhere (kid friendly as my 2 year old LOVES Imprezas, he always tells me when there is a white one outside Corkills!). Suggestions? I think it is a good idea.
  7. List of "friendlies" on the Island. Please add to the list when you get a wave Me White STi FMN267V Richard XMN555 hannay 571RMN Dave K EMN17R There is another white STi and the bloke always gives a friendly wave but he is always going so fast I can never remember his reg
  8. Richard, you know you are not the only member on the Island as we frequently acknowledge each other (You even waved in your type R Civic which totally confused me!!!). I would have loved to have joined in more with the festivities but only managed to make it down to the track day with wife and baby in tow so there was not really much chance of going on the track. I did get a few good shots on video but just missed the P1 lose it properly on the end of the straight (never seen so much smoke!). Hannay. Nice one for getting an STi R. Give me a flash or wave next time you pass me (white STI FMN 267V). I always wave but I am giving up soon as you just get looks of "who the hell is he waving at" over here. It was great fun when SIDC were over here as they always give a good acknowledgement to another Subaru owner and of the couple I met of them they were a really friendly bunch. Hope you make it over here next year again.
  9. I made some discreet enquiries and the official reply is "It is not a specific offence but it may constitute the offence of not being in complete control of the vehicle. The Constabulary's advice would be don't do it. Hope this assists you." Not too sure what this means ie if you were seen using one would you be stopped? The bobbies here aren't too bad though. Depending on who is driving the Integra type R they will even give you a bit of a race over the mountain!
  10. As far as I know they are the same as UK. ie legal to own one. There are shops here (IOM) that sell them openly so it must be OK. Just watch out with mobile phones here as it is an offence to use one whilst driving (up to £1000 fine) and the police are pretty hot at catching you. Look forward to seeing you all in September!
