Quick update, was the pump new one fitted what a transformation, must have been on the road out for a while.
THANKS TO ALL THAT REPLIED. FRAZ.

Almost certainly the pump then. It've a very popular mod to uprate the pump so most people know someone wth a spare standard one in their garage. Find someone local thats got one and borrow it to make sure before you go spending any money.
It's not a big job, just make sure you disconnect the battery and remember the system could be presuriised alothough prponanly not if the pump or nrv is gubbed.
Thanks very much for your input, will try another pump, was going to upgrade it anyway. Fraz.

I had pump fail on me, while I was driving it actually, so they can go. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge to check it?
Would like to hear more about the strange noises though. What kind and under wat conditions?
No fuel pressure gauge fitted. noise was just on turning key like a louder than usual bubbly noise.
