Sorry - haven't checked the archives, but can anyone recommend an alarm system for a 98 wagon and/or a supplier/fitter? I don't want to spend a packet, but obviously need it to do the job...wouldn't mind a full closure system either. Out of interest and know I sound completely ignorant, but does my car have a built-in immobiliser that's operated when you put key in ignition?

Helpful comments ta. Another query - my existing P7000s are a 'W' speed rating. I've found W rated F1 GSD3's going for a seemingly very reasonable £81.00. I've also found the Toyos at £71 - W rating. Elsewhere I've found the F1s with a Y rating at £100. Is the 'W' rating the standard? Is it OK for me to go for the cheaper F1s with the W rating, or do most people who have commented have them on the Y? Thanks - sorry to harp on! jhrfc, the tread is around the 3mm mark on all of the tyres - it only failed due to the inside of the nearside rear having worn lower than that - assume I need an alignment check. But agree - it's time for all 4 to be replaced anyway. Visa to the rescue.

Interesting to compare the performance on mytyres.co.uk - the Goodyears are markedly better, particularly on tyre wear - 3.0 as against 4.3 for Toyos (when 1 is best and 6 is lowest). So could justify the extra cost I guess...

4 new tyres needed for my Impreza Turbo 98 (R reg) wagon (16"). Had all 4 replaced free about 2 years ago as a result of a lady in a TR7 (of all things) driving the other way kindly losing it on some ice. Tilleys of Bristol put on Pirelli P7000s. Have reviewed the archive and can find no mention of these, but it seems that Toyo Proxies T1-S and the more expensive Goodyear Eagles F1s are the ones to have. Does anyone have any experience of the P7000s? Would appreciate opinions on the Toyos/Goodyears. I need this right after Xmas!
