Guys, Due to it eating a valve and a turbo, I am changing my 1999 uk wagon's engine for a STI 5 engine. I need to try and locate somebody who can remap my ecu current for the new engine, with filter and decat exhaust. I live in Bristol, so does anybody know any companies around here, or WSM, swindon area that are reputable?! Guys, does anybody know the contact number for grade a subaru breakers? Their website is on the blink! I want to contact them about a 2nd hand gearbox. Or any other breakers? I have just had the diagnostic report on my whining gearbox. It's no bearing failure, turns out the case hardening on the gears has failed, which has warn ALL of the cogs. Fook. Has anyboy elso hear of this happening?!! Problem that I have is that the car was bought 2nd hand from a dealer with 53K on the clock (99 car) and the waranty only covers to the cost up to 500 quid, so going to be chear to replace than repaired. out of interest, how much is a new set of cogs?!! no, what do you suggest? Boost i assume! Also can I get my ecu remapped, I was under the impression that this was only the latest scoob's? I live in bristol, and tuners (real not cowboys!) in my neck of the woods? Also are front mounted intercoolers worth the money? Chaps, I have a 1999 UK spec turbo (wagon) and its totally standard other than a H&S back box. I was thinking about getting the matching H&S system from the turbo back with the sports cat but I've read that this can cause a boost spike so I'm unsure of this - any views. Also planning to change the air filter too, but will the standard ECU be able to cope with these mods? (is it only the lastest ecu's that can be re-mapped?) What else would be required to up the power to around 250bhp? I'd love 300 as a mate of mine has an M3 and he's always harp'n on about his power! I'm thinking this is FMIC and new ecu& injectors time? Any advice would be ace. Choppo 80)
