As long as you have insurance its ok
On the DVLA site it says:
Driving an untaxed vehicle to an MOT test
You can drive your vehicle to and from a pre-arranged test at an MOT test station provided you have adequate insurance cover in place for the use of that vehicle.
This also applies to vehicles being driven to and from a prearranged test at a Vehicle Inspection Check (VIC) test station, an approved weight testing station and reduced pollution test.

Whats the problem?
When you pull the handle beside the drivers seat does the boot not open.
Just open the boot with the key. On the locking mechanism on the boot lid there is a small lever you can move up and down. Its this lever that makes the switch beside the drivers door stop working. Just move it either up or down and try again.

Check your own insurance policy.
When I was insured with Highways through Greenlight Insurance it was £80 for a day and my excess was double.
Also check Competition Car Insurance

I know someone who is looking for a P1.
He is looking at one for sale at Torness Motors -
Dunbar Road,
East Linton
EAST LOTHIAN,
EH40 3DE
Link :
Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about the car or the garage based on there personal experiance.
Is it over priced ?
The engine has been replaced, is that a good thing or a bad thing ?
Is there anything else he should be looking out for ?
I dont know anything about P1s other than the engine usually goes bang so any advice for him on either the car or the garage would be great.
Thanks, Al

Thanks for all the comments. Its good fun to drive and I love it
It still hasnt got a subaru burble so I may have to do some mods to it.
Its nice to drive but the six gears take a bit of getting used to.
Also the controls, the number of times I have put the indicators on at junctions is embarassing
I know its not an impreza but I hope we can still attend the SIDC events !!!

What about JDM imports ?
I have a 55 plate but it was first registered in UK in April 2007.
I assume "Date First Registered" is based on when it was registered in UK and not where it came from.
Will it be K or M ??
