  1. These are fantastic!!!! Cheers for all the time and effort you've put in mate. []
  2. Cheers Guys - I had my last sevice done at Prosport, and I work on the Wirral, so CAS motorsport may be an option. I know nothing about brakes really, so it would be easy for me to get ripped off. Is there any way I can tell if it's just that they were overheating rather than need ing 'looking at'? I didn't feel that I'd been overly hard on them.
  3. Hi All, On the way to the pub at yesterdays meet, one (or maybe both) rear brake caliper(s) stuck on so there was much squeaking as we approached the stop for lunch, and there was quite a smell of 'hot brakes' []. Brakes were mostly fine again after lunch, and have been fine today, but obviously my brakes need looking at. I've never done disc brakes before, so are there any recommendations for somewhere local (to merseyside prefereably) who'll give me an honest answer as to whats needed (refurb or replacement) and be able to do the work. Don't want to get stung for new calipers if it's economic to have the old ones stripped and serviced/cleaned. I'd like to have a go, but I need the car so haven't got the time to 'learn brakes' at the mo. Cheers, Dave.
  4. Nice to meet you!!! See you at the next one! Dave.
  5. Yeah, noticed that! (Was the A483).
  6. Hi Si!, I've had a proper look at it, and there's not a mark on it so please don't worry about it!!! The black 'rubbing strip' on the door took the bump just fine [] (That's what they're there for!). I am much much more concerned about my sticking brake caliper []. Mmmmm smokey..... Hope to see you at the next meet mate!!! Dave.
  7. Yeah, I will probably be asking people's names again next time.... I'm also rubbish at remembering names []
  8. Well it was!!! Great to put some names to faces. Enjoyed my first meet and hope to see you at the next one. Dave.[H]
  9. just tell her your exhaust is blowing and might need replacing but you know that there are more important things to spend your hard earned on so it will have to wait[] LOL. Might try it though... [Y]
  10. You have all been a bad influence on me [:@]. I have finally succumbed and bought a H&S downpipe, decat centre and backbox..... Haven't told 'her indoors' yet, but she might just notice the subtle change in my car's sound.....[][][]
  11. Ta!
  12. [^][<)]I've reached 100 (posts!!!)! Do I get a telegram from 'Mrs Queen'?[]
  13. MMMmMmmmmMmmmMmmmmmmmmm.......... Nice![]
  14. But will you get full benifit for you money?????????? or are you just paying for a pic next to your name and 4 mags.......... Already planning to get value for money in discounts from a well known scooby bits supplier....[] I can see your point that if you are only going to use it to get a pic by your name and 4 magazines, then it seems expensive. However, on top of the financial discounts (from which I will more than recoup my SIDC subs) I have certainly had more than £30 worth of good advice from other members here, nor will I feel 'cheeky' asking some of the members here to give me a lift when I get stuck fitting my new (second hand and bought without wiring diagram or instructions) PIAA driving lights[]. I am reasonably new to scoobies, and therefore have a lot of questions to ask and with asking all the stuff that I have (and all the stuff that I am likely to) I felt it was 'right' to join up. I know I could have asked the same questions and got the same answers without joining, but that doesn't seem right to me. If you don't feel that you get £30 worth in advice alone every year off these forums then fair enough, but I've been a member for a few days and already feel I got a bargain - if asking questions on here saves me just 1 hour's labour charge (£45+), then I've done ok. Looking forward to meeting folks at the March meet too!!! Ultimately, you pays your money (or not []) and you takes your choice. Dave.[H]
