  1. be aware though the 355mm 6 pot conversion is £350+vat cheaper than the 330mm 4 pot conversion. you can download the wheel template from the ap racing site. if it was me i would hold out for the ap's because if you choose something else then you would always think what if!!!!
  2. guys, I thought i would post up a wee thought on the situation as my comapny car is a Supercharged CTr with a racing Toda manifold, Magnex exhaust, K & N filter Jacksons supercharger, tein suspension and camber adjustment arms. I have also fitted a quaiffe ATB(lsd) and a exedy hyper single plate clutch with flywheel. My best friend from the school was Gordon Shedden the BTCC driver and i have used his touring car setting on the wheel alignment Not finished all the mapping yet but it should amke on our dyno in the region of 265-270bhp and around 180-200lbft of torque. My own car is a 2004 subaru wrx that has been unichipped, downpipe, K & N Typhoon cat back straight through system and a better than standard stereo. this car runs 270bhp 260lbft of torque still running the cat on the up-pipe and standard manifold. To be honest both cars have their advantages and dissadvantages. The CTR - The best buzz you will get from a car without spending a second mortgage on the performance mods. I enjoy driving this car every day and find the car in standard form is a very satisfying car to drive with everything you need from a car with good handling and good performance. The car will take a hard life and doesn't need the constant up keep like the subaru. Again the brakes on the car match the power and once you fit a k & N filter the car when it hits v-tec is awesome(it will never feel like a 500bhp) but enjoyable for what it is. Now with the diff in the car the car instead of understeering actually bites into the corners and makes the handling of the car more enjoyable and you can drive the car at a great pace. I can't comment too much on the performance with the supercharger on the car because the mapping isn't finished. Now one of my customers with a N/A CTR managed to hit 132mph at the end of the main straight at knockhill. Oh yes this is one of the quickest cars i have been in on the road. On the other hand my Scooby is still a quality motor with the loudest burble know to mankind. The scooby is sitting not costing me much in modifications but i wanted to hit STI Type UK power for less than £1000 which i managed with no problems. The car feels quick on the road and you just can't get away from the feeling of boost and the way the car handles. However the car does not feel like can handle the way it ment to drive. For start off the brakes on the car are shocking and to be honest i have never trusted the brakes on the car and i can't just have a better disc and pad set up i require a different set of calipers and discs and pads. Ther handling of the standard car is good but will understeer if pushed hard enough. The best mod i fitted were Whiteline sway bars this sorted the car round a corner and feels a lot more balanced and not so understeery. The scooby feels like a weekend car to me but i need to spend more money on the car. I want to fit a TD05-18g to the car with sti pink injectors and re-build the gear box with a ppg gear kit and a twin plate exedy hyper clutch. i would like to get 380bhp from the car on the standard wrx engine. This i feel would give me a quarter mile time of approx 12.5-12.9 seconds. This would be a quick car. However the civic with the mods should do a low 13 sec quarter mile but on the road i don't think that there will be much between a 265bhp civic and a 300bhp scooby. I feel like the CTR is a car you can take out and have a good blast without worrying about MAF sensors brake pads brakes discs and bottom ends letting go. However i love going for a blast in the scooby and it feels like a serious motor car and doesn't feel like a hot hatch more like a cheaper super car. To sum it up i have a Supercharged CTR for reliability and everyday fun and gives me a smile every day at a not too expensive running cost. The weekend brings out the scooby and is nice to drive with the faamily in the car and you have more prescense on the road and you feel safer. So if someone said to me choose one and get rid of the other i couldn't tell you what car i would let go. I like them both and both cars give me the buzz that you need every day of the week.
