About david_hobbs

  1. A truly shocking event. My condolences go to all who lost loved ones in the accident while we, as fans, mourn the passing of a motorsport icon. Colin McRae, you won't be forgotten.
  2. Convoy brought tears to my eyes, well done folks.
  3. We've lost an icon, a true legend. One thing's for sure, Colin McRae will never be forgotten. My condolences to all those who died and their families and friends.
  4. Like may others I'm sure, Colin McRae was a main factor in my getting interested in scoobies. This is such a sad day, I can't believe it.
  5. Great piece on Germany, Steve, fantastic read []
  6. Another point to lob in is what would have happened if he had seriously injured or killed someone? Would the same argument about 'testing' the car been used then as well? It's not just the fact he was driving at such speeds, it's the related issues and the 'what ifs' that make whole case a bit suspect - 'X or Y is dead but at least they died in the safe knowledge that PC Bloggs was making the roads and our lives a whole lot safer for us all!'
  7. It's more a case of will you get a response?! Get so many blank looks these days from other scoob owners when I wave/flash the lights (usually new age owners, don't ask me why) that I'm beginning to feel like some mad nutter....
  8. But he's caning it on public roads (OK, granted it was 3am in the morning). Haven't the police got the facilities to trian their drivers in controlled environments? I tested my scoob's abilities once on a pretty empty M1 and ended up with six points and a hefty fine - and still the force won't let me join! []
  9. A police officer was convicted today of dangerous driving for reaching speeds of up to 159mph in an unmarked police car. Pc Mark Milton, of Telford, Shropshire, was given an absolute discharge after he was told by District Judge Peter Wallis that he had suffered enough with two-and-a-half years of court proceedings. Milton was convicted at Ludlow Magistrates' Court following a second trial after he was acquitted of the same offence last year. Poor lamb, suffered too much? My heart bleeds. And at the same time more speed cameras are put up around the country! These sort of stories really p me off. [:@]
  10. Cool photos guys, brought back good memories and looks like it was another great trip. Fantastic to see SIDC making its presence felt again in Trier! Good work, Pete!
  11. Stormy, Have a great trip. Hope to see you on track again some time soon.....
  12. Steveee, That's out of order. I asked for photos for that article from you on at least two occasions (or to see if you could source some photos) before it was published. More than one thousand words with no photos looks pretty rubbish in a full colour magazine. If the magazine was full content-wise I chose articles on their merit, generally ones that made the issue as attractive and readable as possible. If you'd still like it published, perhaps you should approach Bob and Steve directly. Cheers David
  13. Pete, I've promised myself never to miss it again! Got to meet and chat with Stephane Sarrazin as well, he was cool.
  14. Well, if Le Mans 2007 is anything like this year's, it will be fantastic. Just got back from a superb trip. The greatest race in the world? You bet! [] JohnB, count me in for next year........ Cheers
  15. Does that mean if you've changed the downpipe and backbox you should pass ok?
