Been recommended by Oilman for my car (2003 WRX) 5w/40 Silkolene Pro S - very good, lowers my running temp a bit too. Just been done.
Remember that SIDC members get a discount on Oil from Opieoils.com

Well,
Spent the day (seems a LONG day) cleaning my car - just meant to spend 10 minutes giving it a quick wash (in the pouring rain), ended up cleaning the wheels in several stages, then in the garage all night, looking at how poor the paint was getting - really flat (lots of salt ruining wax), so THE TIME HAD COME Oh no!!!
Out came the Swissol Paint Cleaner, to strip the wax and crap off, tar, minor scratches etc. After spending ages covering the car, then polishing it off, it was time to wax the car, then polish that off. In the process I took off my fog light surround (badly stone chipped, and the Prodrive fog light protector were FILTHY and you can't clean them without removing the fog light surrounds etc). The fog light protector broke in the process - I said "great - they were filthy anyway - BIN"... Hopeless design really.
After the tyres were given the black treatment, the wiper arms the same, and some black plastic bits too, I replaced the wipers, and the rear number plate bulbs with Phillips blue vision (one was out) - look great now. Stood back and took a few dodgy phone camera photo's...here they are:
The Swissol stuff has lasted AGES - yes its' expensive but the kit I bought two years ago is still at least half full and I have applied the wax to the Impreza (and the Primera and others) at least a total of 15 times. Its easy to apply, when the car is cleaned (without all the prepping of today), you really can wax and buff it in less than half an hour. It then has to be left for at least 3 hours in the sunlight - but waiting for that - I'd be as well not bothering...

Agree with you Andy - this is SO annoying. Some really terrible drivers let down the vast bulk who drive reasonably well.
