  3. you might laugh but that took 2 days - probably about 7 hours in total! the only down side to the wax is that mirco fibre clothes are pretty useless are removing it as the wax hardens - so it took ages - the auto glyn finishing clothes I think would be better

  6. yep if go round they will sell it to you for 'show' prices which are less than that quoted on website wheel cleaner is good as it works on powder coated wheels also - no acid cheers za
  7. they make it there but have a factory shop - you can buy it online but they do deals if you go down there cheers za
  8. heads up for the guys at angel wax in renfrew their products are extremely good and they have developed a couple of coloured waxes also - tried the silver one the last day and very impressed with result. they are developing a subaru blue and there is also black.

  11. another thumbs up for Jim Dicksons place in Cumbernauld for tyres got a set of the bridgestone re070 - has transformed the car compared to the cheap chinese rubbish that was on before cheers za
  12. hi ryan not exactly sure where it is - it may be next to the fuel filter under the back seat (on a hawkeye) - the work was done under warranty but it cost about £300 including labour etc nothing showing up to dash but there was an error code coming up on the select monitor - initially they thought it was the idle control value
  13. turned out to be the fuel pressure sensor replaced and back to normal! cheers for all the feedback za
  14. cheers guys havent changed anything on the car - its not a boost thing. when idling and you hold (try to) at any rev band the revs pulse up and down by about 500rpm but not irregular going to get it onto a select monitor to see if there are any codes showing and take it from there cheers alex
  15. Hi , look for advice - 06 Sti all of a sudden has developed a hesitation/surge and seems to be down on power. Best was I can describe it if you hold it at 3000 rev in 3rd you can hear and feel the engine advancing and retarding last time i have it out it was going very well - any ideas - cheers za
  16. cheers for all the replies its a 2006 spec d - only happens in morning - likewise it seems to go away after running for a wee while just changed the box oil but still the same this morning - find double d clutching helps cheers alex thanks Arch - used gulf racing 75w90 on special at opies - you getting the race car out this year
  17. Hi there, just purchased a 2006 sti and noticed when cold the first gear and 5th and 6th a bit sticky once its been going no issue anyone know if this is a come issue and any ideas to fix gratefully received cheers za
  18. cheers Archie, i have checked that out so hopefully get something on the rear brakes - could you not just fit newage 290mm rear discs and these have the 170mm internal diameter as opposed to the 190mm on the Tyre r discs?? as I see what you mean re Godspeeds shoes - very pricey ps when you next out cheers alex

  20. christ someone remembered by porn name! hows it going - yep still knocking about 11 years of subaru ownership, only 3 years on the road! been doing the sprints and hillclimbs largely but not for a while, trying the get the car up to a decent spec but everything i do to improve it seems to make another problem was up at Time attack at the weekend, good turnover of scoobs for that - should have brought my tools
  21. Thanks Arch, whats the benefit of the Newage hubs, i assume they are wider but if they only accept the R160 shafts dont see the benefit will be changing to R180 i think sooner rather than later as have a rear diff issue at mo. cheers alex
  22. have a kit to convert the rear sliding calipers to Tyre R 2 pots with the larger discs The internal diameter of the larger discs is also larger by 20mm - how do you get the handbrake to work?? I am assuming that the adjustment would make up the difference. any help gratefully received cheers Alex

  25. Cheers Perfect I was thinking of fitting another aux fan so could connect one to the low speed and one to the high speed which would effectively have the same effect - i think cheers Alex
