  2. thanks mate.

i think the £400 ones your talking about are from eurocraparts or similar. wouldn't touch these.

essex turbos quoted more than 4 plus vodka.

want 2nd hand one as i'm in the middle of buying stuff for my scoob and this has come at the worst poss time.

my budget is tight enough as it is!!

Semtech motors are carrying out the repairs, and i'd like to think they know their stuff with turbo's. :)

    cheers, stevie.

cough cough our turbos are genuine garret mate not cheap immitations and guarinteed for a year so if theres any issues we can sort it out for you. ive sold roughly 4 or 5 of this particular turbo in the past year with no combacks atall. it is around the 400 mark for a recon unit or around 500 for a brand new one.

  3. theres a few decent kits out there for the classics, chargespeed do a few which dont look too in your face, but if you like that kinda thing then the veilside kit is the one to go for. theres a massive amount out there so if it was me i definetily would be going for this, n as for kenny laird, yes he does alot of show car corsas etc but his work is always to a high standard and very well applied from what ive seen.

  4. Got to admit, that I had a set of EBC Redstuff in the car, and didn't rate them. No real bite until warmed up. I've found both Ferodo DS2500 and the Carbon Lorraine much better pads.

that would most likely be the older redstuff pads which i do agree were crap, EBC have written those ones off and started from scratch with a ceramic base to them so their new proper name is redstuff ceramic :(

  5. hmmm yeah i wouldnt go any more than 6mm for the car n if its still touching your kinda stuck, AFAIK those wheels are quity heavy so as i said get em sold and buy more mods with the money, or if ya want wheels gor for a nice set or team dynamics pro race 1.2, nice and light and IMO very aggressive looking on scoobs

  6. was gonna say that aswell, get a spacer on there mate, even an eibach motorsport set, they might cost a few quid but saves you being disappointed when u have to give one up, failing that id say sell the wheels, buy more mods with the cash!

  7. Whats the difference between iridium plugs and platinum plugs well different metals and what else

apart from the different metals the iridium plugs have a much smaller tip on them iirc, which is meant to give off a better spark and last alot longer than standard. :icon_pray:
