Hi guys
My beloved 2000 Sport wagon has been deemed uneconomical to repair by Aplan/Markerstudy.
Its a 2000 X reg in royal silver.
85,000 on the clock
17" New age WRX alloys
3.5" Hayward & Scott Stainless back box
2 new toyo T1-Rs on the front 5 weeks ago (typical)
They are offering me £2,300 for it and I'm considering taking it as salvage, repairing it myself and running it as cat D. It only needs a new front bumper, drivers headlight, washerjet, fog light and grill. Plus a very small bend on the front edge of the bonnet needs straightening out. The back bumper needs repairing on the corner too, but thats not critical.
The repair estimate from the approved repairer is coming in at £1,900 with £1,100 of that being parts!! (go figure)
I looked at the adverts all over the place and to find one to replace her would cost me at least £2,500 plus the mods i put on her so more like £3,000.
I've said I'm not happy with their valuation and they've asked me to prove what I think its worth by supplying details 10 private adverts. Problem is I cant find many private sports for sale. I can find plenty at dealers and they range from £1,800 to £4,200!
Any ideas what I can do?
Thanks
David
Actually, if I could find another sport that was as good as I think mine is and i could afford it, they can write mine off. I'll be sad to see it go, but at least I wont have to repair it.
