  1. Ok, forget i said the breather filter wasnt venting petrol fumes!!!! I went out for a quick blast when i got in, theres definatley an increase in induction noise - might be my imagination though!! When i got back i lifted the bonnet, just to make sure everything was still secure, and the stink of petrol was everywhere! Looks like i've rigged the breather filter up correctly afterall!
  2. I havnt driven it yet!!, i'm not expecting any sound differance really. The Samco isnt as stiff as the oe hose and can be squeezed qiuite easily, so you never know! By the way the breather filter isnt really doing much, its effectively letting the engine fumes out i suppose, but certainly not to the extent as if it was plumbed in properly.
  3. Yesterday i fitted my Samco airbox hose (cos i'm a slag!! ) Upon removing the original hose i saw that a pipe went in to it. I was told to either drill in to the Samco, no way!! or remove the Carbon Canister, as advised by Dogpole (SN) and Slooby (22b) (Cheers guys!). I then had to reroute the hoses that went in to it. I didnt have enough T pieces, but did have my Green Breather, that i've never found a home for! Its a rough mock up at the moment until i can get another small tee piece. As i'm sure this is quite restrictive! Big thanks to Dogpole for providing pictures and advice in the Scoobynet Technical Forum! Anyway, token picture! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/16vm.../samcogreen.jpg
  4. It actually has a storyline to it and theres less focus on the cars. Give it a look and see what you think!

  7. I got the pod from Scoobyworld, £75. Gauges are from http://www.meganracing.com/ and they work out at £47 each. Ive fitted Oil Temp, Oil Press and Turbo. Shipping came to £35 then another £35 for the VAT. Included were the nessercary oil sender and boost pipes. No control unit needed like with Defi's. 2 holes were drilled in the back of the cubby tray to allow the cables to be sent through the bulkhead to the engine. The gauges have been earthed to the metal frame around the steering column The pod has been secured with velcro and seems fairly stable. The gauges were going to be lit up from the lights but that caused the lights to be on permanantly plus they werent getting enough volts. We tried to wire them up to the stereo today but were met with the problem that the wires were either permanant lives or not at all. Instead the wire for the illumination has been connected to the air con fuse. The dash is quite awkward to pull apart and you have to give it some, but at the same time make sure you dont break it! Everythings gone back together as it was though without any problems. The boost gauge is reading 16psi/1.1bar my car being a classic ppp this is spot on. The oil pressure has being reading 96 im not sure how accurate that is though? Still got the temperature gauge to rig up. Ive only one real quarrel with them really though and thats the boost gauge is very noisy. Its like having a dump valve inside the car and when you lift off the throttle you can hear the needle spinning back round! The oil gauges calibrating when you turn the ignition on is pretty cool though!
  8. cheers babe Turbo gauge wired up, gonna test it out later hehe. To be honest though the back lit isnt too good, so will have to see what theyre like in the dark.
  9. ...well kind of!! Megan Racing 52mm gauges and Scoobyworld gauge pod. Got all the wiring done this afternoon and sent through the bulk head to the engine bay, and secured the pod down with velcro. Boost gauge connected up and ive just been to halfrauds to get some more connectors, when my dad get back from town we'll have the boost gauge working (thanks dad!!). Cant get the oil gauges rigged up yet as i need a tee piece, but atleast they look good in place and i should have boost working by tonight! Woo Hoo! 2 very poor pics, sun was in the way! Ill get some better ones later!
  10. Well i did the plugs and leads myself. The mechanic there who ive been chatting to, he went out in the car too, said it might be the MAF or tha Lamda sensor. They spent about 2hours looking at it. Its perfect now.
  11. It was plugged into the diagnostic machine but everything registered as fine.
