  1. Can't quote part nos. but I do remember this matter has been covered before and unfortunately the bottom line is this:- MY99 cars and later---yes, you can purchase the new MAF alone( without housing) for about £80 and has been said, fit yourself--only 2 screws but you will need a special screwdriver set( torx?). Pre-MY99 cars------you have to buy the housing complete with the MAF sensor, hence the much higher cost. I stand to be corrected on this but I think I'm correct. Dave
  2. Can recommend a Fabia vRS----Gp.9 insurance, 50mpg+ on a run and quiet on Motorway/A roads due to high 6th.gear( 32.5mph/1000rpm). Well equipped too with standard A/C and single CD player( can be upgraded) and good potential for easy/low cost re-mapping from 128 to 175bhp and 228 to about 300lb.ft. torque. Dave.
  3. Hi--Remember if changing pads, assuming old ones are well worn, loosen brake fluid reservoir cap, wrap reservoir with old cloth/paper towel as you may have to lever back the pistons to ensure new pads can be correctly positioned which may displace some brake fluid "back up system". Suggest you also have a search thru' Tech. forums here and in Scoobynet because I seem to remember that Subaru does not advise use of 5.1Dot fluid but cannot remember reason. Dave.
  4. Dipsy, Unequal length headers retain that Scooby burble although equal length are supposed to release more bhp/torque than the unequal length ones. Having said that, even unequal length stainless tubular headers should produce more power than original spec. cast iron headers due to their better flow characteristics--less friction with the stainless compared to the rougher finished cast iron.--Likely to be noisier though and not sure if that would suit your own car! Dave.
