Sorry to hear about you and Jenny mate.
I live over West Swindon so if you ever wanna pop over for a beer or a brew give me a shout Bud.. would be good to catch up.
I have just taken over as RO for Somerset and Wiltshire so maybe we can get some joint meets organised soon.
Anyway.. catch up with you soon.
Sounds like a plan mate

Hi guys
I am going to make no excuses for not posting all this time but as some of you know already this last year has been a little on the dark side, me and Jenny are no longer together and well to put it mildly its been pretty tough on both of us. I now live over in Lyneham and commute to Brize, as a result of this I will have to part with White Noise as the fuel cost is just too much for me, she is already up for sale. But I have another scoob in my sights so all is not lost.
Seems this place needs a kick start too, when was the last Oxon meet?

The only aftermarket DV worth its weight in alloy is the Forge Motorsport DV but it will require setting up to your car for you to get the best from it.

Well after a long week and a 16 page long debate on SN I went back to Subaru4U today for a 2nd dyno run, we proved today that my intake temp is actually very high and that my intake needs work to get the temps down but check this for consistency.
Same power output down to 0.1bhp 7 days after the first dyno.

Very good result
If you dont mind... what supporting mods are you running ?
Simtek ECU with ALS
Apexi AVCR boost control
VF35 with ported wastegate and 1.0 Bar actuator
Full decat inc tubular headers + up pipe
AB88 FMIC + Forge BOV
550cc injectors, Fuel Lab FPR @ 3bar, parra' fuel rails, walbro fuel pump.
Heatshielded Apexi power intake.
Think thats it

Have you managed to find a decent workshop manual? I am struggling to find one
Have a look through this lot fella, LINK.

Excellent result there Iain.
Ay Subaru 4 U are a good bunch, Mines been in there a couple of times, before I took the plunge & now do most of the work DIY
Andy
Thanks mate, must get you and the lad out in her for a blast, you can take the helm if you want
Cheers Iain

That's a fair price! I saw the dyno in there when I went to get my cambelt done.
I bet, was it the kind of smile you had at Santa Pod last year?
Do you keep getting your readout out your pocket every 5 seconds and pointing to it? haha
Fantastic results though, deserves recognition!
Mike
Mate the smile was way bigger almost as big as when I came 4th in class D at USC this year whilst running 1.4 Bar

Mine is quick "enough" and trying too hard just makes the clutch smell for days afterwards.....no thanks. Either way my bikes will piss all over ANY Car I've ever tried. (no one will lend me a Veyron)
I had a BMX once, it was well rapid

Brilliant mate! Super duper, neato, way to go ha
This has made me want to get modding even more now!
How much is the dyno run at subaru4you if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks Mate, it was £50 and worth every penny, you should have seen the smile on my face.
Cheers Iain

Really good figures Iain, is that just V-Power no booster or meth?
Robert
Thanks mate, V-Power

Hi all
I have just been to Subaru4u in Newbury for a power run and left with a huge smile on my face.
I am not certain that the intake temp is accurate though
Cheers Iain

Wow, sounds good to me
The autobahn is the one I have been looking at, so that's good news. Do you think I should keep an eye out for a VF 35 or wait until I've seen the results of your 23?
Yes I've seen the santa pod results. AWESOME!
Depends what you want from the car really, the 35 will spool way faster and the 23 will give more top end.
-
Sounds interesting! I will await the results! Which fmic would you recommend?
I told myself to leave it at the exhaust, oh well ha!
I think a simtek is in order with some pop pop bang bang.
Used your launch control much?
If it works I could see close to 400bhp
I have been using the Autobahn 88 intercooler and so far it has been great, the Simtek is great, 2 maps, mild anti lag and the launch control is great, only used it a Santa Pod and you have seen the results
Cheers Iain
-
I think I'm going to have to ask you to put a shopping list together for me ;-)
Mike
No probs mate, I may be working the magic on a VF23 (the std turbo for my car). It will be interesting to see the results.

Is this setup change applicable to other VF's or TD's?
I'd like to have you do mine but you're bloody miles away!
It is defo applicable to other VF's and I am sure that the TDs would probably respond the same but I have not tried one yet, was tempted to to a TD04 just to see if it would see 300+
Cheers Iain

Do you think my engine's up to it Iain? or should I leave it alone?
Cheers
Mike
Yours will be up to it mate, more so than the other UK classics, so long as its mapped in you will be fine
Cheers Iain

When is the next event?

Spotted Myles in Cartoon Town

I must see you every other day as I commute from Lyneham to Brize now, I am running about in a 1.9 TD Renault 19 these days to keep the costs down but will be back in a Scoob before Christmas, I am keeping my hand in though, been very busy sorting out scoobs here there and everywhere from mild tuning issues to knackered suspension lol, its not just you Colin as Myles
Looks like the old girl is doing well and is 100% testiment to the owner and the time you devote to the her.
I am sure we will catch up soon mate
Keep an eye out for an old blue Renault 19 trying to get your attention
Cheers Iain
