About SCOOBWRX

  1. Hello mate, The comment on the alterator is a valid one! My friend had the same problem on his TVR (he uses it daily!), it too kept eating batteries for no reason, 'Racing Greens' finally traced it to a faulty alternator, was some bit of solder that had fallen off inside and was causing an intermitant short? He had his alternator replaced and never had the problem again.. (I'm obviously not saying this is your problem...but its definately an area to look at/replace) Could also be the alternator overcharging the battery, have the old batteries all had a good level of fluid in them when they die? I would start being more forcefull with the dealer, i'm sure you could threaten to return the car under the "Goods not fit for purpose" act???? Hope you get is sorted mate!! Dave
  2. Thanks for replies guys, lets just hope "what comes around goes around"! [6] Ii'll give Littleknocks a shout to see what they can do, if its cheaper than my excess then it would make more sense to use them!! Dave
  3. I drove my 02 WRX up to Manchester for work this week, came out of the hotel yesterday morning to find that some low life ***** **** **** has put a really deep (through the primer) key scratch along my rear passenger door!!! I swear I thought I was going to be sick when I saw it! WHY? would some-one do that?...I would of rather it have been stolen and not seen it again then to come out and see this! I have spoken to a few bodyshops already and most of them say that the whole door should be re-sprayed..which means spraying the front door and blending this into the rear and front wings! A lot of dosh and my excess is over £500! Has anyone had this done to them and successfully had it repaired to a high level without resorting to re-spraying half the car?? ( I live in Fleet, Hampshire) Any advice much appreciated! Dave
  4. Cheers Dave, I'll see how I get on, prices between them and black circles seem quite close. I think anything should be better than the ones I have, as they are about 3/4 worn I think I have worn down to the harder compound in the tyre, and I'm certainly noticing it in this weather! Personally I like the look of the GSD3 F1, but I know thats not exactly the way you should choose a tyre!
  5. Hi Dave! Thanks for that, I'll go and have a browse though black circles, was looking through etyres.co.uk, Which of the F1's though GSD3 or GSD2? I take it directionals are a good bet on the Impreza? Cheers!
  6. Hi all, Looks like the tyres are just about dead on my 2002 WRX, its got the standard P7000 Pirellis which it came from Subaru with (at least I think it did) any-way should I stick with the same make of tyres or should I get some Toyo's or F1's? - any recoomendations? (The less noise the better though!) I've obvisouly still got the standard 17" wrx rims. Cheers Dave
  7. Funny you should say that as mine has gone off a few times this week aswell? - Could it be to do with the weather? Maybe Battery voltage dropping slightly due to the cold, as I know most alarms have a voltage sensor? Me mates Evo 6 has been doing it aswell.....
  8. I saw the same thing mate, can't remeber the garage name but they fitted a Turbosmart valve that can be manually adjusted, they did a real good job when fitting it, taking before and after boost level readings on a rolling road. I think what he said about holes v trumpets is that the ones with the holes don't seem to be able to vent quick enough or as quick as a trumpet hence casuing a bit of surge. its deffo made me think twice before getting one..or a cheaper non-adjustable one..
  9. Hi all, I'm in 2 minds whether to get some rally style mud flaps for my Silver New age scoob, coz my car is in Silver the only ones I think that are going to suit would be in Black as I have never seen them come in Silver, but I can't seem to find any pics...sooooo if any-one has any pics of a silver Bug eyed Impreza with Black rally style mud flaps could they post them up ? - Would be much appreciated! Thanks Dave
  10. << we missed it any ideas if it is being repeated ? >> I don't think its the last stage, I'll keep an eye out for when the next ones on and post a message.. ScoobyAndy> Definately agree, and watching these guys pilot these 20 year old Rwd cars with such skill is amazing..
  11. Anyone else been watching the Irish Rally Championship on Men and Motors? - I think its "Group N ?" Anyay I Just finished watching the latest stage man there is something so right about MK2 Escorts power sliding their way around wet tight tarmac corners!! Just my opinion but watching the "old skool" rally motors seems much more entertaining than the current breed!...Wide arched Mk2 Escorts, G3 Mk3 Escorts, RWD Pug 205's Corollas, E36 Zimmers etc OOh yeah!
  12. Hello mate, but what do I do if I can't see a post from the user?........actually I should do a serach!
