  1. << << How long do the JDM imports take to arrive? >> Well, mine's up to the four-month mark now .... but I went for a Spec C WR-Limited and it took seven weeks to get hold of it in Japan ... then the five weeks to ship it ... and now there seems to be a big hold up with SVA (it's been in Bristol for 10 days). THE WAIT IS KILLING ME ... (just had to get that off my chest). I think a standard JDM STi should be much quicker to get hold of but you're still looking at a minimum of two months. >> Can you haggle with Lichfields over the price, or is it set in stone?
  2. << << I think Iain from Litchfields said the Spec C can be modded quite easily to 365bhp, the same as the T25. But the only reason they started to make the T25 was because they had stopped the Spec C limited. >> When I ordered my Spec C from Litchfields, Iain said he was considering abandoning the T25 because the MY05 Spec C's were so good ... >> How long do the JDM imports take to arrive?
  3. << 05 STI is a bit more than 22k I think......I think you will be looking at 25K for a brand new 05 STI, and they have DCCD as standard now anyway...the 05 model has been brought more into line with the JDM variant, less a few horsies, as is always the case and minus leccy folding wing mirrors and maybe a different suspension setup.....I would go UK spec PPP (about 27k) personally...... >> Lichfield offer the 05 UK Spec STI with DCCD (£23.5K) and without DCCD (£22K).
  4. I?m looking at buying an 05 import from Lichfield. However, I can?t decide between getting the UK Spec STI or forking out another £5K and getting the JDM STI which comes with DCCD as standard (and an extra 40bhp). Having read this forum I?ve gathered that if I buy the UK spec STI then it is £22K, will come with a 3year warranty and all UK dealers will service it. However, if I buy the JDM, then I?ll be paying £27K, the insurance will be more expensive, it may be difficult to get a warranty and not all dealers will service it. My question is, is the JDM worth it, or would it be better to just buy the UK Spec STI and have PPP fitted?
  5. << Where u from Tom? There r plenty of Scoob clubs u can go along 2 on here. >> I'm about to move to Newbury. I noted that there is a meet in Abingdon (where I work) quite regularly so I may pop by in my Fiat Coupe and say allo.
  6. << Welcome Tom. With ur 25k i would buy a sti uk type just like the 1 i own. I had a wrx first on 51 plate then traded it for a 04 sti in march. Never looked back. Mega car. I would stay away from imports, But that is just me. >> I must admit, I am tempted to save myself some money and risk and just buy the UK STi, but I'm just worried that when I have it, I'll wish I has paid more and got something even faster. I once bought a Saxo VTR and for its entire ownership I wished I had paid a little more and bought a VTS....
  7. << Service interval on the Spec C is an oil change every 5000 miles/6mths and a major service every 10000 miles/12mths. Bear in mind that the current (2005) model 'standard' STI is much more similar to the Spec C than in previous years - if you call Iain, get him to talk you through the differences - you may well decide that the Spec C isn't worth the extra. I did >> Oh, I didn't know this. Any idea of the 0-100 times for the 2005sti model? bhp / torque figures? weight? Much appreciated...
  8. Right thanks, I've just checked out Lichfield motors and I will give them a call shortly. The only hurdle now is convincing the Missus that spending £28K on a car is a good idea . Does anyone know the service interval for the Spec C?
  9. AHHHHHHH!!!!? Why do Subaru make so many versions!! HI!! I?m a newbie and I?ve just made the decision to sell up and buy a Scooby. I?ve got about £25K to spend, but I?m just getting lost in the endless raft of different versions available so I?m hoping you guys can help me decide! I did have my heart set on a Subaru STi Type RA Spec C, which according to EVO has 335bhp and has a blistering 0-100 time. However, in this months EVO magazine they have an article on the same car, but it only has 276bhp? Why is this? I?m also struggling to find any articles specific to the Spec C ? that will give me service interval details and the like, or any pictures of the interior - if anyone can point me in the right direction. AND? would I have to buy one of these as an import, or can you get them from UK dealers? Any links would be helpful. Thanks, Tom
