Yes I think women are quite good drivers as a rule. It's just parking some of them are useless at. Whereas I'm a top parker as the condition of my wheels will prove. In fact I haven't reversed into the kerb for at least 2 days!

You just have to hold onto a car to make it pay. Buy a new or newish car and then sell it after a year or 2 and the annual depreciation looks horrendous. Keep it 5 years and it flattens out. I kept my last car 10 years. I bought it brand new and sold it a few months ago. The difference between what I paid and what I got for it was about £7,000, Divide that by 10 years and the car cost me an average of £700 a year in depreciation. That's very acceptable to me. But if I'd sold it after 2 years it would probably have worked out at £1,500 - £2,000 a year easily. Of course I haven't built into my calculations an allowance for inflation etc. But I don't get all that net present value stuff or whatever it's called. Sorry this is crap ................

<< i am in berkshire its 40 mins from brighton >> At 3 in the morning and driving an Impreza Turbo maybe, but when I drove to Bracknell a few weeks ago it took me 1 hour 45 mins. Perhaps I went the wrong way - I went M-Way (M23/M25/M3) rather than cut across country and I got a bit held up on the M25 like you do.

I don't think it applies to Morgans so much. I'm a bit out of touch but a few years ago when I was into them and toured the factory in malvern I recall being told there was an 8 year waiting list for a new one so consequently once you got a brand new one you could actually sell it on for more than you paid for it. Not sure if that's still the case though. Which reminds me I still have a good collection of Morgan paraphenalia. Something to dig out tonight methinks.

Yes I'm in Sussex too and will keep my eyes peeled. These thieves operate everywhere these days. I might expect it in Brighton but Fulking is a quiet village in the Downs. Isn't Fulking where the Shepherd and Dog pub is? And a very nice pub it is too.

According to the What Car depreciation guide, an Impreza STI is worth about 53% of its new price after 3 years. Looking through other cars, that seems to be about average, Trouble is, the STI costs over 20 grand to start with so thats a lot of depreciation. Most new cars depreciate by a similar percentage but of course if you buy a £10k runabout then you haven't been hit so hard. That's why it's important to negotiate a hefty discount off a brand new car to offset some of the initial depreciation hit. But I doubt you can get that much off a new Scooby.

Our Winter Project - 40mpg and 330bhp......
SpeedyRob replied to CustomScoobyIOM's topic in General Subaru Discussion
shame would have been an interesting project. my first thoughts were that 40mpg and 330bhp must be mutually exclusive. -

I've never heard of that song but I think Three Dog Night had a hit with "Mama Told Me Not to Come" back in the 60s.

Yea it's not bad really. I've been a member of a few boards over the past couple of years and this is one of the best I've been on.

Oh dear..nearly Monday..any1...
SpeedyRob replied to Janeybabes's topic in General Subaru Discussion
I'm allergic to Monday mornings so I always find an excuse not to go into work. Tomorrow is no exception. Going into work on a Monday morning shortens the weekend as you spend Sunday evening thinking about it and getting prepared. I spent years suffering the Sunday Evening Blues until I found the cure. -
<< somebody took the time to sign my bonnet with the initials "LS" in 3 inch high letters, My mates all think it could be Lisa Stansfield but then again Luke Skywalker can't be ruled out >> I wouldn't rule out Leo Sayer either.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr @ Mick. Lamb's my favourite. Least I know where to come next time I'm in the North East.

Yes, scum was the word I was looking for.

So what have you had for your Sunday lunch today? A nice big Roast? I usually go over to see my Mum on a Sunday and get a big Roast dinner when I'm there but this week she is ill so I have missed out. I have just had to do myself double egg and oven chips.

I think it would cost you. A total quality re-spray would set you back over a grand wouldn't it? And what about re-sale? I can't work out if it would enhance or depress the car's value!

My friends BMW got keyed recently - and a really bad one at that. I'm not a violent person but if someone did that to my car and I caught them I think I'd beat the crap out of them. As far as I'm concerned this country is going to the dogs fast. We seem to be becoming a nation of thugs, yobs and out of control hooligans with no respect for anyone or anything. You have my sympathy.

Very smart. Pair 1 suit you best I think.

Are topless women allowed on here?
SpeedyRob replied to SpeedyRob's topic in General Subaru Discussion
Looks like this thread has been hijacked. Started out as a good discussion about topless lovelies and turns into an exchange about back problems. Oh well. Mind you, I think there is a connection. I've heard women with very large frontal projections are more prone to backache. -
You may have seen these before, but in case not here's a few from my collection.

Ok Phil, no problem. If any fellow bird lovers would like to see it, I will email it to you. -

There's no doubt that genitals are not permitted on the forum but breasts don't fall into that category. Nobody would object to a picture of a man without a shirt on so in the interests of sex equality I would have thought that ladies should be permitted in a similar state of undress. After all, ladies like to go topless on beaches and in daily newspapers now. I would have thought that to ban topless women would be discrimination against the female members of the forum. -

To be honest I haven't really scrutinised the boobs too closely - as a wildlife lover I only saved the picture because I thought it was a nice picture of a duck in its natural habitat swimming down a river. But since you asked I have just paid more attention to them and I would say they are probably real. Personally I don't find women with implants attractive. They look unnatural and, I am told, are hard and cold to the touch. -
I know this is a family board and swearing and pornography is not allowed but what is the position as regards topless women? I ask because I have a really good nature picture of a duck that I was going to post up for your enjoyment but unfortunately a young lady has got into the picture and on close examination it would appear she is baring her breasts. Are topless lovelies allowed on the SIDC forum?
