I think at that price, providing it has some MOT, you cant really go wrong. Sure lots of little jobs need doing and if you cost up the parts and your time against what you can pick up off autotrader etc, you may be quids in - then again, you may want to save all the hassle, spend a few extra quid and get one thats all OK. Check the mileage and when the cambelt was last done. You say the tyres are newish, if they need replacing soon, that will set you back a few quid. I would check out the classifieds to see what is about for £3k + region. If there is this much work to be done, i would say any committed scooby driver would have taken more care of their car adn a car in this condition would leed me to think that it wasnt looked after and what else is hidden and could possibly go wrong!
