About KGB

  1. Good idea Neil, i'll get hold of some and pop them up.
  2. Hi, i wondered if anyone here knew anything about a dark green mica saloon, registration number R675 NCU, perhaps the Ken Block Moster Energy team graphics it was kitted out in will jog a memory or make you cringe like it did me I bought the car as salvage so didn't meet the previous owner. Receipts would indicate it has spent time in Ayrshire. It's had a tough life but i bought it with the sole intention of doing some track days so didn't want to wreck a nice car. The car has been fitted with a Blitz induction kit, decat downpipe & exhaust, front mount intercooler. I'm interested to hear any history on the car, more so as to whether anyone knows if the modifications have been done properly or not than how many times it's been upside down in a field Cheers.
  3. Hi Neil, wondered if you could tell me what happened this type r after your mate bought it? Noticed it was up for sale soon after, did it sell? Car has been written off again, wondered whether it had any known faults prior to it's latest accident? Cheers.
  4. Thanks guys, will ask some questions. KGB.
  5. I'm looking to get back into Impreza ownership after foolishly selling up and trying a couple of Evo's I saw this one, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1734448.htm , sounds promising but it's a bit of a trek to go see it and wondered if anyone here knew of the car and could tell me if it was worth the journey? Thanks
  6. I know of the car mate, was an insurance write off around 7 years ago, not sure if current owner knows that and has 'forgotten' to mention it or simply doesn't know. Having said that the car was properly repaired but i'm led to believe it's had some not so careful owners since, last one blew the engine and sold it that way as he couldn't afford to fix it. But as has been said above, knackered brakes, faded paint and the rear arches getting scruffy, it ain't worth the asking price imo. It was an impressive performing car 7 years ago though! Cheers.
  7. My first Impreza, '93 WRX back in 2000 Then from 2003 until 2008
  8. I guess that's a 'No' then Bought it anyway so i guess i'll find out as i go
  9. Afternoon everyone, i don't have a lot of posts to my name but have gained a wealth of knowledge through this site and am looking for some more today if i can. I'm very very tempted to buy the above car, a red classic Wrx import, its currently looking a bit sorry for itself in a salvage yard having had a fight with the scenery but the price is attractive enough to tempt me into buying it as a track day toy. I just wondered if anyone knew the car and what it had had done, looks to have fresh Tein coilovers, newish stainless exhaust, different alloy pulleys, air con removed and engine rocker covers painted red. The engine stars and runs sweet, gearbox feels nice, clutch healthy etc. The car has SIDC markings and receipts for items in scotland hence my enquiring here Cheers.
  10. Such a sad sad day. A real hero to me, probably the biggest influence on my choice of car and a genuinely good guy. Thoughts and condolences to all affected by this tragic accident. RIP Colin, Johnny, Ben & Graeme.

  12. Afternoon everyone, just wondered if anyone else was heading down Kelso/ Duns way this weekend for the rally?? Kicks off tommorow night with shakedown round the grounds of Floors Castle, entry wasn't looking too good a few months back with its new slot on the calender but there are now a grand selection of WRC cars! Maybe see some of you out and about, just hope weather keeps reasonable[8-)] KGB.

  15. Fee, switch of power to the immersion, follow the electric cable to the hot water tank, normally there's a cover held in place by a single screw or nut, take this cover off, the live cable from the wall will be connected to one side of the thermostat with a seperate cable out the other side and onto the heater element. Might be worth taking the stat out to measure how long it is and getting a new one same length and changing them over, obviously depends how comfortable you are working with electricity!! When you are getting some hot water it'd suggest that the heater element was ok but that the stat was switching the heater off too soon. Tough to diagnose properly without being on site and unfortunately your 60 odd miles away. Hope you get it sorted soon, just be carefull with the electric!! KGB[]
