  1. Thanks, for all the sympathy. No news on the car so far, don't really expect to see it again with this sort of professional gang. I think its probably had chassis and engine numbers stripped off it, or else been taken to bits and sold as spares. Trackstar just say if the unit is disabled before the car is moved then it won't send a signal. Very disapointing that all the security features seem to count for nothing. Have to agree with sentiments about the feeble response of the courts to this sort of thing. The crooks involved can make thousands and know if they're caught a couple of years in jail is about the worst they'll get. Rich'. www.petsparade.com
  2. Hi, just a quick warning to any one who might be tempted to leave their scooby at B'ham airport. I returned from a couple of weeks holiday on Wednesday last week and spent half an hour walking round the NCP long stay car park before I realised that I hadn't just forgotten where I'd parked !! The NCP security guard informed me my STI had been stolen on the Sunday night, 3 days before I came back. (blue, silver wheels, VU53 LVR, if anyone sees it). Another scooby was taken on Tuesday night and apparently scoobys and Evos are going quite regularly from there. NCP only have 3 guards to patrol their carp parks, the barriers just push out of the way if someone drives out. If you have a scooby don't park there. It was all caught on camera, took 1.40 min to take it! The same gang seem to be taking them regularly. They turn up in an Evo and if disturbed just take off. The RAC Trackstar never sent a signal, so the thieves have obviously got a way of bypassing them before they move the car. I have already given myself a good mental kicking for leaving it there, so no abuse please. This was the first time I?ve left it parked at B?ham long stay, I?ve always managed to get a lift there before. If I?d realised the rip off price I would never have parked there anyway. Would have been much cheaper to get a taxi there and back. The extortionate charge (£136.00) might be bearable if there was good security. But when they are well aware of regular thefts and still security is so inadequate you just know profit is the only concern. This is my first post and I?m sorry it?s on a bad subject but it might just stop someone else losing their car. This is my first theft of or from my scoobys after 7 1/2 years driving them and I was beginning to think all the horror stories of thefts, car jacking etc were passing me by. Thinking of fitting a Dipol dead lock next time, the electronic security obviously isn?t secure enough. Rich www.petsparade.com
