  1. I think this might be a fake However, the Fuecker-Reisen company of Germany is well known to those of us with a puerile sense of humour.. Fuecker Cheers, Plug
  2. Hmmm, student recipes. I really used to eat some sh*te in those days. Here's an old favourite: Take 2 slices of processed white bread (the cheaper the better). Toast until golden. Set aside to cool. In the mean time, shallow fry two Findus chicken and mushroom crispy pancakes. When these are cooked and piping hot, butter the toast, and form a sandwich containing the pancakes, adding brown sauce to taste. Garnish with baked beans. Yum yum yum... Cheers, Plug
  3. Hello all, Still smoke free here after 9 months Can't believe I have managed to stick out for so long... that's it, no going back for me. Reckon I have saved over a grand so far.. so I treated myself to a 37" LCD telly in the sales with the money I would have spent on fags . Payback for all the grief I went through to quit.. Cheers, Plug
  4. Took Mrs. Plug's dad back to Kent today. Horrorshow warnings not to travel unless it was strictly necessary, but there was only the faintest dusting in Tonbridge... There we were with the Thermos, extra warm clothing, blankets in the boot... oh well, better safe than sorry I guess. Now I'm back home it can bucket down as much as it wants.. The car is tucked up in the garage and we still have enough food and booze to not step out of the house for a week. Cheers, Plug
  5. 16v? You're having a laugh. It's the 767cc FIRE engine.. 4 cyls, 8 valves, very few horsepower (especially at the moment). Ordered a new belt today from my friendly local motor factors (although it's no longer listed and they had to dig out an old book ). Cost - ten of your english pounds. I doubt one can purchase an Impreza cam belt for that. I'll have a play over Xmas.. If I can get it running on 3 cylinders, at least I can drive it to the scrap yard... Cheers, Plug
  6. Might try and get a belt (not expensive) and have a go at fitting it myself... Don't think the Panda owes me anything as I bought it for a pittance.. but the Mrs. loves it to bits, and I must admit it has a certain charm.. it ain't fast, but it puts a grin on your face whenever you drive it.. Cheers, Plug
  7. Was at work today, got a call from Mrs. Plug saying that our crappy Fiat Panda wouldn't start. "It doesn't sound right, it's making a funny whirring noise when I turn the key". Hmm, thinks I, sounds like a sticky starter motor solenoid. Nothing a good mullering with a hammer and some WD40 won't fix (the joys of owning a banger). Went home to have a look, cranked it over, not good. Sounded like there was no compression. There's that horrible sinking feeling in your stomach when you think you know what's happened..... Sure enough, after a dig around under the bonnet, it has snapped the cam belt... must have happened when she tried to start it, we were out in it yesterday and it was running fine. Could have been a lot worse, I take it to work sometimes, and the thought of the belt snapping at 70mph (about 8 trillion rpm, as it's only got a 4 speed box) doesn't bear thinking about. Looks like that's the end of that then.. anyone want a 750 Panda at a bargain price? Buyers collects... Cheers, Plug
  8. Hello all, I've been getting a bit of an oily smell from under the bonnet recently, had the local garage have a look at it. They reckon the rocker cover gasket is leaking a bit and it's dripping onto the exhaust heatshield, is that a big job to get sorted? Cheers, Plug
  9. Well, I like my "facelift classic UK turbo wagon" (phew) But I still wouldn't call it pretty.. none of them are. It's distinctive in a world of Mondeos and Vectras, both in terms of styling and engine note. Being a wagon, it's also quite practical for what is quite a compact car.. you can get a tumble drier in the back But, whatever model you get, it will put a grin on your face whenever you get behind the wheel.. that's why we all love 'em Cheers, Plug
  10. Always wear a watch but have owned precisely 3 in my life.. Given a Timex wind-up as a laddy which I wore until I got a Seiko quartz watch for my 17th birthday. I wore that for 19 years...... replaced the battery twice, I think it was just about due a third when one day it just died. I've got another Seiko now, had it for about 2 years, and a bit posher as it's titanium rather than steel, but I think it will do well to outlast the old one.. No kudos but I always know what the right time is! Cheers, Plug
  11. Hmmm.. Could be bigger. Maybe a twin pipe? Cheers, Plug
  12. Please, although eNglish not my best is. Sound much like cheap cApacitor in Box with BEST CArbon Fibre Effect on cardboard. MUCH SNAKE OIL!!! Paper written on, not worth it is. Performance claims many , false all but f*ckitwhoCares PAy for though, choice yours. Plenty stupids will buy Cheers, Plug
  13. Had a go today in my boss's BMW X5 (4.8i sport ). B*gger me, it doesn't half shift for a Chelsea Tractor.. must be something to do with the 360 bhp under the bonnet. As it was running on fumes when I got back I thought it could use filling up.. go on then, how much. NINETY QUID later... Makes the scooby seem almost reasonable Cheers, Plug
  14. Sorry chaps, but it works fine for me.. You will need quicktime to play this, I think, free download from Apple if you haven't got it. Then right click on the link and "save target as", choose a folder and save it to disk. 9 minutes of adrenaline, not for the faint hearted. Cheers, Plug
  15. A classic.. c'etait un rendezvous (Quicktime format) Parisien madness Cheers, Plug
  16. Only 34, that's no age to go.. RIP Plug
  17. If you've got something you need to get rid of urgently (i.e. container of toxic waste, dead body, that style of thing.) simply box it up, address it to yourself and send it via DHL. I can guarantee you will never see it again. Cheers, Plug
  18. My car's been going like stink since the temperatures dropped (unmodded UK turbo). Wouldn't like to estimate how much extra it's putting out but it feels like plenty Sod's law that it starts to make more power just when the roads get slippery... Cheers, Plug
  19. Take a look at this then.. not just a factory that was abandoned but a whole region. Spooky. Chernobyl Plug
  20. i think the good old stopwatch on a nice straight road Cough.. cough.. I think you probably mean on a private airfield. We have a 70 mph speed limit in this country, don't y'know. Of course, on an unrestricted section of German autobahn, it would be a different matter Cheers, Plug
  21. Hmmm, minty. Does it leave a fresh taste in your mouth every time you drive it I do like that colour.. looking good Cheers, Plug
  22. Well done Andi, I haven't had one cigarette since I quit (March/April time), it was hell for a couple of months but it does get easier.. Want to make it to the 12 month mark now so I can classify myself as a "non-smoker" for insurance etc. I've only put on about half a stone though (never ate chocolate before I gave up, could there be a connection?) so haven't done too bad.... Cheers, Plug
  23. I've got a Nokia but bought a Siemens headset. The earpiece is small and subtle, some of those bluetooth headsets look like Borg implants. Only ever wear it when I'm driving anyway (yes of course it's hands-free officer), can't understand people who wear them in Tescos.. Cheers, Plug
  24. For those of you that have forgotten.. Lardy boy Ford in a Bentley at the moment,. Cheers, Plug
  25. They have some motors on there that are in very questionable taste. It's at the other end of the country from me so I don't have the urge to go there just for a laugh. The occasional gem turns up in the Autotrader searches though, check this one out.. Tasteless Merc They must have had this for nearly a year now, what a landmark. Should have shipped it back to Dubai by now... Cheers, Plug
