  1. one of the first songs I learnt to play on the recorder was Londons burning - you know the one "london's burning, london's burning, fetch the engine, fetch the engine, fire fire, fire fire, pour the water, pour the water" and then back to the beginning again. Drove my mum absolutely MAD
  2. I've just got home from London Bridge to Thurrock. I walked from London Bridge through Bishopsgate and onto Shoreditch where my mum lives. Hubby picked me up from there. Took just over 2.5 hours. You can't get a black cab in the city for love or money. It was very strange walking through the City. All you can hear is sirens eveywhere but funnily enough, people are remaining quite calm. My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their lives today. You certainly don't expect to go to work in the morning and not come home again that evening. Very sad For those of you are are caught up in this chaos, I hope you all have a safe journey home.
  3. I feel for you both. I know exactly how painful sunburn can be Learnt my lesson the hard way - I burnt both my feet one year and couldn't walk for 3 days!!! hope it heals soon and remember the factor 25+ next time
  4. << Clicky >> that site brings back some memories!!! I can also remember that the 6 weeks summer holidays ALWAYS used to be hot!!! Not sure I'd want to be a kid in today's world but it was great when I was young
  5. Ade, so you're following in our footsteps by letting the Scoob go . It's a sad day but I'm sure that you and Ronnie have thought long and hard about your decision. I'm not going to say goodbye as I'm positive that we'll see each other again. We still owe you a meal remember!! You've got both mine and Harry's mobile no's - please don't be a stranger lots love Sarah & Harry XX

  7. thanks for all the messgaes guys. I've been up to Chelmsford today to sort out the plate on my scoob and must've seen about 6 Scoobs, all burbling away nicely it's possible that we may have another one day in the future, you never know
  8. good morning guys, it's nice and sunny in London at the moment Andi, hope the weather stays like this for you
  9. Yesterday was a sad day in our house. After much deliberation, the Scoob was chopped in for a more practical Land Rover Discovery I've recently changed jobs so am not driving the car to work every day like I used to. I was only using it to drive to the gym and back 3 times a week. I couldn't warrant the cost of insurance, tracker, petrol etc... for a car that I only drive 25 miles a week in! Also with 3 dogs, the Scoob was getting a muddy hammering every time they got in. Also with all the recent engine's that have blown on other Scoobs lately, I felt I was sitting on a time bomb ( 48k on the clock) I just wanted to say that although Harry (Suggs) - my hubby - and I haven't been forthcoming in our presence at meets etc..., we've come to know you through the forums and this is an extraordinary owners club ( Blub blub). You gave some real practical advice when we first got the car last year and that gave us a good start into the world of Scooby ownership. I will still be logging in from time to time to see how you're all doing so you don't get rid of me that easily! Take care y'all lotsa love Sarah & Harry xx
  10. cheque in post today Jen as promised. Good luck, be thinking of you while I'm walking round Tesco's on Saturday!! Sarah x
  11. This time it's me though. I know that a lot of you have already sponsored Big Bird for this worthy cause and Steveeee for Santa Cruise ( you really are all very generous ) but me and a few friends are also doing the race for life in London's Regents Park on 24th July 2005. If you could sponsor me and my team that would be great. We've set up an on-line donation facility. The address is www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/photofixgirls. It really is a worthy cause and even if you only sponsor us for a few pounds......... every little helps and it all adds up. Thanks guys
  12. I've just filled up at Lakeside Tesco and it was 85.9p compared to 79.9 for normal unleaded
  13. £25 paid through SIDC shop today. Thanks for the reply Louise
  14. Hi and welcome to the bottomless moneypit that is Scooby ownership!! Another Scooby Laydee here. I've had my car for 14 months now and it's the nuts!!!. It's a MY00 Classic turbo in Dark Mica Blue. Enjoy the forum too, they're a good bunch on here!
  15. I'm probably being really blonde here but how do I pay into the SIDc shop??? I've had a look and all that I can find relating to Santa Cruise is a £5.00 donation. Do I need to buy this 5 times??
  16. << don't they have a different system in Scotland that helps to stop this sort of thing? >> i think so. If I'm correct, you have to put in a sealed bif for offer's over ££ price of house but you have to get a survey done first. I think that once an offer is accepted and the verbal agreement made, that is legally binding. I may be talking rubbish as I only learnt this from watching Location, location, location
  17. I've never sold a house so don't have that experience but my parents- in-law have had their house on the market since February. They've had 3 buyers, one after the other, that have withdrawn their offers at the last minute. They are not happy as they've already paid a non refundable deposit on a new build My next door neighbour had his house on the market for over 3 months and didn't get a single offer. We were thinking of putting ours on the market next year but might wait a while longer just to see what happens. As they say " what goes up, must come down" Good luck with selling your house though
  18. Went and saw it last night. It was REALLLYYYY good!! I must say that I'm not a particularly big Star Wars fan but this film is the nuts!. It's good for all ages and it's got some fantastic fighting scenes in it. I've never seen Master Yoda move so fast! And there's plenty of space action too. And for us girls, there's Hayden Christensen ( Phwoar!!) Mind, I'm sure my husband was drooling over Natalie Portman too ( in his dreams!) I would recommend it as a great film and it really is the final piece of the jigsaw. Star Wars is COOL
  19. good luck Jenny! I'm taking part in the Race for Life on 24th July in Regents Park. I'm going to walk it though, my knee can't take the running. Hpe the training goes well, I'm sure it will.
  20. I know exactly how you feel M8 I had two of my credit cards cloned when I stayed at a health spa two years ago. I only found out when Barclaycard phoned me at work to ask if I was in Holland! How could I be in Holland if they managed to get me on the phone at work?????? Turns out some barsteward had cloned my card, paid for their fare to Holland and decided to go on a spending spree!! They spent about £600 but I wasn't liable to pay any of it thankfully. Good luck with getting it all sorted.
