Does anyone have any old copies of true grip that they do not want anymore? If so could you please get in contact with me as i would like to be able to show people the club magazine that they could recieve if they joined the national club - the SIDC. It doesnt matter how old but it would be nice if they were in good condition Thanks Jacqui

Behave yourself rae! PMSL -
Yes you are reading this correctly! Even though the cost of this event has increased massively i have booked 2 dates for next year. Even though it is a small track it is still great fun (and im allowed to drive on it as well!). So i am now going to start lists for people who wish to attend the S.I.D.C Haynes Days:- Sorry but a maximum of 10 cars for each event so we can maximise the use of track per cost. I will no longer be doing trophies for this event as im trying to keep costs as low as possible but i will still be keeping times and you will get your results at the end of the day. I am at present also reviewing how to give you maximum time on the track and if there is a way of setting up time slots. The cost for this event is £40 and Payment is to be paid in advanced by cheques to "Haynes Motor Museum ltd". If you pay for this and either dont turn up or don't find someone to take your place then you will not recieve a refund - i am sorry but i have lost too much money in th past 2 years and so have to become much more stricter March 31st 2007:- Edmondo October 27th 2007:- The Museum will be open for special Spooky Tours due to Halloween on this day Edmondo

SADLY MISSED Obituary Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year- old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental Consent to administer Panadol, sun lotion or a Band Aid to a student - but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Although dates and shows are not always confirmed this early in the year we do have some dates/ rough dates for some of the National and local Events and so these are now going to be put up.

National Events - National S.I.D.C Stand

Japfest - Castle Combe, Sat 19th May 2007

Japfest ll -

JAE - East of England Showground, 21st & 22nd July 2007

Rally day - Castle Combe, Sat September 22nd 2007

Trax - Silverstone Race Circuit, Sun 2nd September 2007 (unconfirmed)

Local Events - South West Region of S.I.D.C will be in attendance

South West Motor Show - Newton Abbott Race Course, Sun 17th June 2007

Performance Car Action Day - Castle Combe, Sat April 21st 2007

South West Festival of Motoring - Taunton Race course, Sunday July 15th 2007

This is just a list of dates and events etc and is not complete nor is this thread to be used to add your name to shows at this stage - it is just to give you an idea of the events that are already in the pipeline for the forthcoming show season.
