wrx kenny - your mods will also be covered like-for-like on the Keith Michaels policy. According to the lastest figures, in 2010 there were 400,000 whiplash claims (ignoring all other personal injuries, repair costs, theft payouts, hire cars charges etc...) at an average payout of £5k, so that has cost the insurers £2bn.... or 20% of all premium paid last year, hence the increases.

We are still VERY competitive on performance cars, but on 'normal' cars we don't even attempt to get close to internet prices. Other companies have always been competitive aswell. However, by looking after our schemes we can always remain competitive, rather than be cheap for a year or two then have to raise prices due to high claim stats.

James - sorry it took a while to get the NCB out. Not sure myself what happened, as i don't deal with the paperwork myself (we have an admin department who are ment to do doing that). Once again i do apologise to those who find it difficult to get hold of me. The idea of 'ask for a manager and Gary will call you back' wasn't one i am aware of, but thanks for the tip off ;-)

Stayed till 3ish, then went on a very scenic route to find petrol. Ended up in Canterbury.... twice!!! Really enjoyed the show, easy to get in, around, and out. Nice to avoid the usual queues and waiting 30 mins for a burger!!!

Good to meet you again Granby. I know what you mean about the sunburn, by neck is stinging a bit!!!

I organised that 11.20 session, and don't know of any drivers complaining about the Evo driver. (not to race control or marshalls anyway)

SCOUK - I touch goats Not sure why the details are incorrect without looking at the policy, will speak to you next week to get them corrected. We get the details on the proposal form as close to correct as possible, but feel free to correct any details which need changing. In the old days you'd have to fill in every details yourself on a 3 page A4 form, therefore we try to save your time by using the computer generated forms with as many details on there from the start. Reference the mods, we can only physically list one mod on the proposal form, but we give you a section to list them all in. The proposal form is a legally binding document, so as long as the mods are on there (either written by us or you) and signed you'll be fully covered (like-for-like)

Hi Alan I understand your frustration completely, and the time companies take to assess the claims not always acceptable. I am glad they have offered you a good figure, even though it would have been better to get some more. Like i said on the phone my anger isn't directed at you in any way at all, as you had a completely legitimate complaint, which i will pass onto the claims department in our next meeting. I am just very disappointed in another persons comments, which they have no involvement or understanding in at all. I hope i didn't come accross as rude at all, but as you know Gmac's comments have caused a major problem this morning, which i hope i have now resolved. Hope you get a new car sorted asap Alan, and give me a call when you get it and we'll get the cover swapped over. If you get any problems you have my direct line number, and i'll be more than happy to help in any way i can. Gary

Alan - i have just realised who you are. You insured your car with us for a maximum value of £6000, and they have actually offered you MORE than you valued the car at. Book price for a standard car is £4500, and they are offering you over £6000, yet you still think your mods aren't being taken into account???
-
I would suggest reading about MarkP1's car before commenting, as he recently claimed on his modified car, and got a hell of a lot more than a standard car. Highway DO cover mods like for like, and if anyone has any doubts about this i'd suggest contacting either myself or Highway who would confirm this.

Good to see the car after talking to you about it. Looks stunning!!!!

The computer generated ones have a blank space to list the mods in, it saves filling out a 3-4 page proposal form where you have to fill ALL your details yourself Not the proposal, the actual certificate and schedule.... I don't think they have them listed on there. Mine didn't
