  1. Where about in East Lothian are you?
  2. I'll be fitting a set of components to the lass's Classic in a week or two, I'll let you know how I get on with it. Shouldn't be a problem to knock up an extra set of spacers []
  3. Good photos Peter [H]
  4. Sorry for being the last minute chancer but thanks for the warm welcome from those who I managed to speak to. I was meant to be servicing at Crail but with the snow that was cancelled. Thanks to Spooks for organising it and the laid on drink & cake by the Scottish Scoobies Caterers [] I'll try and make it along to more of the next one. Was slightly disappointed with the result but wasn't that surprised. The car has been playing up slightly the last few days but at least its under powered and over fueling rather than viceversa. Thanks again to Gerry and Paul for their knowledge, it's always good to find out before things go horribly wrong. Will be saving up the beer tokens for guages & a knocklink just to keep an eye on things. Cheers Grant! I phoned Nobles today (yup, Sunday!), spoke to the salesman I bought it from and explained the whole story. None your usual dealer push offs, nonsense stories and meaningless apologies here. They want the car is asap to get it sorted - bottom line. The car will be collected from my work this week and returned when fixed! [] [<)] If the rest of the process goes as smoothly I'll be one happy man. If they can't fix it I'm going to try running it on petrol rather than diesel to see it goes any quicker [] I got a couple of video clips which I'll edit and upload soon. Thanks again Andy
  5. I found tonnes of mud lying on the drive on Sunday morning and the O/S/R arch protector trim hanging off!! The inside of the arch was packed with earth on both sides yet I kept it on the shiney stuff all day []
  6. I certainly did see the reply mate, thank you! The pads got a good pummeling so there isn't heaps left on them, they'll do for a month or two yet and it'll be a set of DS2500s, 5.1 fluid and probably braided lines. The car was simply awesome on track, I'm so glad I tracked it only 1 week after getting it as I've now got so much more confidence in it. The stock P-Zeros are rather good on Knockhill []
  7. Col, Did you get any of the WR1? Cheers mate
  8. Fantastic day!! First real test for the car, and what a car! [6] Started off taking it pretty easy and the car felt a little skittish and understeery. After a couple of runs the pace picked up a lot and using the "point & squirt" technique the car just blew me away. The speed I could take into the 1st corner was amazing, way faster than the Zed or the Civic  Going into the hairpin too quickly generated massive amounts of understeer, ended up on full lock and then the bugger would grip and I was shooting sideway across the track [] Only one moment, on my second lap I entered the chicane off the power and the back stepped out. Exited the corner already pointing in the correct direction, a swift stamp on the go-go pedal and the car pulled straight and we were off again. It was nice to have sun, rain, snow, wind, overcast, damp and dry conditions. The car relishes the wet, the Pirelli P-Zero Neros did a terrific job, sadly Mr S. Ubaru's brake pads weren't so good and I was using a touch more engine braking than I'd like. An easy and fairly cheap thing to sort so hopefully next time the Exiges will be staying behind me [] As for the Corsa and the TT [:@] Hopefully I'll get a chance to speak to you lovely SS people next time Cheers Andy

  10. I'm toying with taking the car on track [] Think I might get my backside skelpt by that mini though! [au] Cheers Andrew
  11. I was recommended 5w40 fully synth for my WR1 by Opie Oils and my dealer []
  12. Sounds like an excellent idea, I'll be up for that. Cheers Andrew
