i stuck some oct booster in to mine for its last rolling road effort and got the figures below......no engine mods whatsoever apart from panel filter. that was only about 100.5 ron...

Im always good sir no i do have a similar opinion to steve, its not my cup of tea, and generally you do see a lot of hashed jobs on these cars, believe me i have plenty of examples around here. This one does at least seem to be put together correctly, and is at least shiny Orange though!!

hehe, if i did i would be more than happy for you to do so, it was a black A plate fiesta, 950cc. Bloody awful car, hated it but there was absolutely no point in doing anything to it because i wasnt going to fool anybody in to thinking it was something good! I just waited until i had enough money to buy a good car from the outset, thats always been my philosophy, my second car for example was a rover 214....again, pants, but no point in wasting money modding it to make it even more of a shed as an indicator to its crapness, i got 300 quid at trade in for the scoob!! barely enough for a wheel

hehe, im only playing people, the guy can do what he likes my only real trouble point was why put motorbike exhausts on it.....do they make motorbike exhausts FOR cars now? (and im being serious about this part) because this isnt the first one ive seen with one (or 4) on. I just would have thought it would make the car sound worse not better, and damage performance? But like everybody says....each to their own. If im honets i was never in the max power thing though.....and hell, im only 23!!!!!! so he aint that much younger than me! (and i own my car before anybody says it!)

yeah, and i do very much respect your opinion, given all the stuff that youve done to your cars Ive just been contacted by a chap that has done this very thing on his car, and something that i did not know was that the fuel cut defender is set higher than in the older cars aparently. He runs his at 1.15 bar (17psi) with standard fuelling without problems, i dont think id push it that high personally, no matter how tempting it would be! Grr, i cant make my mind up. Custom, totally agree with you about the warranty part although hopefuly it wouldnt have to go in for too many of those!! Neil.

yes i can see your point, although surely if it is already running on the richer side it would not harm it to increase the boost a notch? say to 1.1 bar? i think that the PPP raises it to 1.15 and im not so sure that they adjust the fuelling for that either, otherwise surely the MPG would drop considerably on a PPPd car, which i doesnt? Any other views? P.S. i would like the idea of the boost coming in a little earlier though.

Ok, im looking in to getting a Dawes device fitted to a MY03 WRX, has anybody here done this and if so were the results favourable? as from what i can understand this seems to be one of the most cost effective performance modifications money can buy. I have a boost guage fitted already and am looking in to a suitable AFR sensor thingy, so does anybody have any thoughts? All opinions welcome, even if you say "its crap dont do it", i just want to know what peoples experiences are of them P.S. also i was told when it was rolling roaded that the car was running slightly rich so running a touch more boost shouldnt hurt it at all Thanks, Neil.
