  1. Gutted for you mate!

I had the same thing 3 months ago, got hit by an ambulance sitting at a set of red lights. Made a right mess of my DS rear qtr.

Where are you based fella? If you are anywhere near essex take it to Chelmsford Accident repair centre.

A 60 year old traditional panel beater sorted mine out a treat, not some chav monkey just out of school who dont know his Ar*e from his elbow.

I was suprised/relieved they didnt write mine off as the repairs were 2k.

    Sean.

  2. Mark, i am so sorry to hear of your loss mate. I lost my mum 6 years ago suddenly and it hurts like hell i know.

Take comfort in the fact that nobody can take away your memories or the feelings that you had for him inside, time is a great healer Mark and it will become easier my friend.

    Best wishes

    Sean.

  3. Welcome mate :P

Sorry for the rant, touchy subject :P

No worries Ace, wev'e all got our gripes fella. Dont even get me started with ambulance drivers now! :P

Its all getting sorted now, took it to a place in Chelmsford recommended to me by Knowlsey @ Extreme Scooby's. The manager there has a seriously mint STi which goes some way to making me feel comfortable with letting them do the work.

    Sean. ;)

  4. It is an insurance job.

I was sitting at a red light minding my own when an ambulance on a call hit me.

So its getting claimed from the them, so cost is certainly not an issue.......in fact i want it to be as expensive as possible, the barstewards!!

They have got to pick up the tab for a "like for like" hire car aswell. :) haha!

    Sean.

  5. After my little inci(dent) with the ambulance a couple of weeks ago my baby has been left in bit of a mess. I have now got to go and get qoutes from bodyshops etc.

    My question is this:

Do i take it to Subaru (to ensure genuine subaru parts etc) and i feel i will have some comeback if i'm not happy with it. Or do i take it to an independent bodyshop with a good reputation where i wont have as much comeback?

All advise greatly appreciated as i really dont know what to do here?

    Cheers guys

    Sean.

  6. Nope, wing not replaced, thats a repair job :D

My wings were belnded into the skirts and rear quarter along with the rear spats. The whole side of the car minus the doors was one piece.

Aaah yeh, i see now under closer inspection. Sorry mate, my mistake.

In that case they done a splendid job. Who and where are they mate?

    Sean. :)

  7. Sorry to see damage done to your car m8.

If he had been rushing to save one of your closest loved ones, perhaps you would be more forgiving?

    Colin.

Possibly Colin, i know its a tough job but they have a duty to drive responsibly my friend. Something that the offender was certainly not doing!

Otherwise they will be causing injury's as opposed to treating them!

I will calm down in a couple of days........i hope? At the moment, i'm seething everytime i look at it. :)

What can i say, i love my car. :)

Thanks for all your support guys.

    Sean. :)

  8. Im no expert but yeah that looks like a fairly simple fix to me, they will either pull the worst out and fill or just fill it smooth it and paint it. I doubt you will be able to tell if its a good body shop. It can be extreamly frustrating doing blue light runs so maybe the driver deserves some slack, or perhaps they were driving like a tool, i have no idea as i wasn't there but its a nightmare trying to get places fast even with blue lights.

Sorry, he'll get no slack from me mate. :)

All he had to do was slow down a bit and go round me, i couldnt go anywhere i had cars to the left and front of me sitting at a red light!

Instead he makes no attempt to slow down and totally misjudges the width of his own vehicle=incompetence in my book, bordering on dangerous driving? Definitely driving like a tool whatever!

Ive made an official complaint to the ambulance service and ive reported it to the police as they didnt stop at the scene.

As far as the body filler goes, thats just knocked chunk of the value of my car then. When i was looking for mine, i would have walked away from a car that showed any sign of rear damage as a matter of principle, how could i sell the car in good faith knowing what i know?

I know its only cosmetic, but joe shmo punter wouldnt. Oh well, guess i'll have to keep it then. :rotfl:

Just makes me so damn angry that somebody's carelessness can result in my pride and joy being soiled forever more, absolute tosspot! :)

    Sean. :)

  9. Unfortunately and ambulance driver on an emergency call decided he wasnt going to wait for everybody to move, so he tried to get through a gap in a right hand filter lane that wasnt there......at 25+ mph.....through a red light (that i was sitting at minding my own).

Dread to think what could have happened if 1 of my kids had been in the back with there arm out the window. :)

What i need to know is: can this be put right properly so that it looks like it never happened? So if anybody reads this that knows there bodywork can they please put my mind at rest.

The way that rear qtr is pushed in really worries me as it doesnt look like a replaceable panel to me :)

See what the incompetent F*CKWIT has done to my baby. :)

  10. Nice pictures fella and sorry to see your car like that - any word on that?

Love the look of the new Focus RS.I've got my name down on the official 'interested' list so hopefully will get some bumff through the post in the future.

    :)

Not half as sorry as i am renny, its a wrongen mate. You go out of your way to look after your car and some incompetent idiot does that to it. I just hope it can be repaired properly so it looks like it never happened........and the quicker the better. :)

    Sean. :)

  11. Went along there yesterday as a guest of Suburu UK.

I have designed a few badges/logo's etc for them over the last year so i went to see them in the flesh.....so to speak!

So it should have been a nice special day for me you would think?

Unfortunately and ambulance driver on an emergency call put pay to that at 9.15am, when he tried to get through a gap in a right hand filter lane that wasnt there......at 25+ mph.....through a red light (that i was sitting at minding my own).

Looky looky, see what the incompetent F*CKWIT has done to my baby.

Now where's that numpty b*llox ambulance driver :)

  12. Not from me mate, i dont work for Subaru. I work for a small (but very good) vehicle signage company

The 380S will be built to order (requires complete engine rebuild by Prodrive),so i doubt there will be any discounts on that baby. I think the 330S will be "off the shelf" though!

I will hopefully be getting an invite to drive them both when launched......can't wait for that.

  13. Hi Guys,

ive just fitted a lovely new Alpine head unit into my MY00 Turbo 2000, and now the speakers are showing there worth (about 2 quid)

I know the rears are a funny size, which is a shame cos ive got a set of Alpine 6x9's sitting in my cupboard!!! Are they 5x7's?

Also, should i go the component route in the front with the tweeters high in place provided?

I'm rather partial to Infinity or JBL speakers if possible, do they make suitable fitments does anybody know? or failing that Alpine.

Can i use spacers on the front (lower) so that i can get a decent depth speaker in there?

I think thats about all i need to know for now, i remember a link to a scooby audio site a long time ago on here but cant remember what it was called or nowt?

    Thanks in advance

    Sean.
