SIDC Paintball Event ***** CANCELLED *****
STi_Bandit replied to STi_Bandit's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Agree with Kart_man there it dont really hurt unless you trip and shot yourself in the foot then it stings a little. To put it all in context my girlfriend went paintballing for here birthday, and she loved it, and didnt find it sore, only the stiches from all the running so if she can do it iam sure anyone here can do it. Yeah that was my next port of call brian, was going to PM Gumball, as i rember he had STi Wheels for sale, the previous owner of me car did have classics so he may have put them on by mistake being used to classics Martin

I Like to organise an SIDC day out paintballing on the 18th June 2006 at A.P.E paintballing in Edinburgh. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=31...0&ay=669535 I have contacted A.P.E. Paintballing and have booked the date above at their venue, they have recently put their prices up however i have agreed that we will get it on the old prices which is £5.00 per person and £6.00 per 100 paintballs. After the days activity we could if anyone wanted pop along to brewers fair for some munchies or an early tea I would suspect that i would need 12 people to make this a worthwhile day 2 teams of six. If i cant get the numbers then i wont try and raise the subject again of paintballing. To recap :- On site fee = £5.00 per person (covers hiring of googles, guns, ovealls) Paintballs = £6.00 per pot of 100 The £5.00 on site fee is for the whole day NOT £5.00 per game. Day Schedule 12am - 4pm = Paintballing Games (times can be vaired) 5pm - 8pm = Meal at Brehaurs Fair (Optianal) Martin 1. STi_Bandit 2.

I might be up for a wee run this weekend, as long as it like you say a relaxed pace as iam not what you call the most spirted of drivers when it comes to country road driving. so if you lose me dont be to worried. Martin

Looks like it was a good day nice weather, wish i had gone excuse to really but the stamp of death on the tyres well then they would be slicks, maybe next time. Martin
-
In the STi8 i think the steering wheels are a small diameter as i certainly noticed a difference in the size of the streering wheel from the UK300 to the STi, the STi one is alot better [] Martin

All i know is on the car at present is 225 / 40 / R17 and all the stickers and in the handbook say 225 / 45 / R17, so if iam replacing all me tyres should i go for the 45's as what is stated in the book or stick with what i have, what sizes are on other peoples newage sti's

The A701 is just outside penicuik at the Leadburn crossroad, i take it sometimes to goto dumfries, real seinic and takes you all the way to dumfries, not normally a busy road though if you get stuck behind someone hard to pass, Was just when you mentioned broughten and dumfries was the road that sprung to mind Martin
-
Just been looking through the handbook and it keeps refering to 225/45/R17 yet on the car is 225/40/R17 is this the common case or should i be putting 45's back on ??
-
I love the A701 road down to dumfries such a good drivers road, if your heading down that way i could meet you at the Leadburn junction (I.e where the pub used to be before someone crashed there car into it) Martin

Suppose it was a bit hypocritical of me to say when are you detango, as iam far to scared to do it to mine, think it would look great but iam just too scared. Martin -
If i was to go for the 18" wheel n tyre package, would the speedo need to be re calibrated ? Martin

I Remember in my handling mod thread, the spec was posted for the WHITELINE demo car [] Hi, The Whiteline demo road car runs on Control springs, front & rear adjustable heavy duty anti roll bars, anti liftkit, front spherical bearing adjustable droplinks, rear alloy droplinks and front strutbrace. Oh, and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubber. I find that it makes a great daily driver, comfortable (i'm an old git) loads of grip in wet, dry and anything in between as well as having a good balance for the odd trackday. Of course you can go a lot further, but you start changing the compromise that suspension is. Normally comfort is sacrificed as well as grip in the wet etc. in order to squeeze the last few tenths for the track days. What would you rather have: a car that is right for 99% of it's use and slightly lacking for 1%. Or a car that is right for 1% of the time and compromised for the other 99%? Suspension is a compromise which feels different for different people. Ask your local Whiteline dealer if you can drive the Whiteline demo car to give you some ideas. I'm sure something can be arranged. Cheers Job

Have you switched the switch on top of the steering colums ??
