Thanks, what is the difference between coil overs compared to the standard set up. And would coil overs be a straight forward fit and never knock.

Hi, owned a year old 2004 sti ppp, had to sell it as you do when you are young, at present own a ( don't shout at me ) a 2010 Mini, factory JCW. Trouble is l miss my Impreza and lam trying to find a similar car in blue. Hard to find in that spec that hasn't been around a track or a super market car park. Good thing with being older now the insurance is more manageable. So that's me, and l also previously belonged to this great forum.

Hi, l purchased a year old Impreza 2004 sti ppp in 2005 and had the rear suspension replaced under warranty through Subaru. But later sold it?. At the moment l own a 2010 mini JCW but fancy a change and want another 2003-2005 sti ppp. Test drove one at the weekend but it had that dreaded rear struct knocking and put me off. I've looked on forums all over and it seems to be a real problem. What l would like to know is, if l did get one and it starts knocking can l replace them with new genuine Subaru ones and will they last or can l get after market ones, l don't want to be stripping them down and regreaseing them . Your advice would be great please, many thanks.
