About greg722

  1. Thanks for your help, I gave the aerial a spray of oil before I left, after 5 min of driving I used some pliers (now knowing that it is supposed to move)and it moves freely. I also now have a decent radio signal. Glad it wasn't an earthing fault but I investigate that later as preventative maintenance. Greg
  2. Thanks I had tried to do it by hand but it was stiff and gave up as didnt want to force it and break it. Im popping out in 5 minutes so will try again, maybe a dash of pentrating spray may help.
  3. HI all, Since I brought my Impreza classic, it has always had a poor radio signal (it still had the original radio fitted). I have recently fitted another radio and now the signal is terrible. Is this a common issue with this model, any tips for improving the signal? My antenna is sticking out of the drivers A piller but it dosn't extend should it do so?? Regards Greg
  4. lol when i say country i mean without pavements, Im from Dorset originally so Medway isnt the best place for a good drive, but I enjoyed it all the same.
  5. Just some country roads around Medway. But I have rediscovered the joy of driving. Didnt stop for pics was to busy enjoying the drive
  6. I went for a drive in the subaru today. not very interesting i know, but it has been years since i have owned a car interesting enough for me to just drive for the sake of driving. The 2l non turbo is not the fastest, but i couldnt help blipping the throttle on every roundabout and corner just to feel the handling. Today im happy what a good fathers day present i gave myself
  7. I could not disagree more, I lived in Germany for 4 years and they are terrible at lane hogging, most of their limitless motorways are 2 lanes, when you are doing 150mph and the hogger is doing 70mph in the outside lane believe me they get out the way sharpish. Personnaly I make a point on the M25 of doing 75 mph on the inside lane undertaking 2-3 jammed lanes of outside/middle lane hoggers doing 50-60, my personnal justification is that my lane is faster than theirs, by highway code its not under taking (although my brother whos a policeman says if he caught me id not get away with it (W****r).
  8. I have owned a few differing prefromance cars in the past, and the gweneral consensous I have found is that the 5/30 is great for new cars as the thinner oil produces less drag and gets around the engine better (Enthusiastic road use). But for older engines the thicker grade is better as wear has made engine clearances larger and the thicker oil is requied to provide adequate protection. 10/40 is the best option me thinks.
  9. Was reading that but can't find the key pad don't think my car has it??
  10. Was reading that but can't find the key pad don't think my car has it??
  11. 1 fob works (both leds work), both keys work (keys don't have buttons) not tried either of the little fobs (don't want to make it worse)
  12. Just tried new battery and doesn't work. From previous cars you can push the button in a sequence. Program it to the car is that possible here?
