Hi everyone!!! Because of my work, I don't have so much time as I want for myself. But, after a quite long search I found the right mechanic, wich is not so far from where I live. The car has been checked today and what can I say is that definitely is not the rear or the front diff. The mechanic took off the exhaust system and the propshaft wich is going to be checked tomorrow. He also found a couple of bolts and hubs who doesn't look right. I'll keep you in touch. As soon as I can I'll drive my car to the nearest garage to be inspected following your advice. I'll update this topic as soon as i'll have a good answer. All the best!!!!

Hi, many thanks for the answer!!! Thia annoying noise and bang can be heard and felt just in 1st gear when I start driving or when I stop the car so, all this can be noticed on low speed. On high speed the car drives perfect, with no issues. Even when I turn the car on corner the car is quiet. Definitely, I need more opinions from other mechanics, but i have to find the right ones. As I beleive, if it was something bad, the noise would be louder when I accelerate. But, this is just my opinion. I hope to fix it asap. All the best!!!

Hi everyone!!! I'm just a new user of the Subaru club and I would like to ask for your help to fix my problem. I've been told today that I have a problem with the rear diff and I have to replace it. This is the first opinion but I would like to hear more than one. When I start driving the car I can feel the car shaking and banging a bit and same when I press the break to stop it. After the car is on the second gear, the car drives superb, with no funny noises. The car has just been serviced and the engine is ok. Is this happened to someone else before? Is the rear diff my real problem or might be some bearing or something else? I leave in north London, E17 area and I need some informations about any garage from my area where I can fix my problem. If the real problem is the rear diff, can anyone tell me where to find a used one to fit on my Impreza GL 4WD auto, 1996? Today I spent few hours in front of my computer but I could not find one for automatic Impreza, all I found was for manual cars. But, like I said before, it is possible not to be so bad as i think. I would like to say Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this. Sorry for my any writing mistakes! Paul
