About esoxlou86

  1. Thank you for the warm welcome here are a few pics of my car atm. is there anywere to start a mod/build thread on here?
  2. Hi guys and gals after a year or so away from anything subaru related after a not so great experience owning my 1st impreza I am back behind the stars once again and just wanted to say hi to everybody out there
  3. using an orbital polisher will remove light scratches/marks etc yes but its not something I would recommend doing on a regular basis as even with a very fine compound like 3M finnesse etc it is VERY easy to do more damage than good such as burning through the paint. Especially on subarus as they seem to be very skimpy with the paint in the factory lol. My recommendation would be maybe to take it to a detailer/valeter for a one off machine polish and then simply keeping it cleaned and do a regular hand WAX yourself approx once a month but not a polish as wax will cover and protect the paint wereas a polish is designed to cut into the paint and if used too often can actually cause alot of damage. As far as the wax goes I swear by Meguiars gold glass carnauba plus. its not very cheap at £30 a bottle but its a case of trial and error until U find the wax u personally prefer. hope this helps mate this is just my opinion and expeirence's over the past 7 years working in a bodyshop lol but Im sure others will have other views.
  4. Im just really fussy with my cars lol But then again U should see my van. its horrendous inside and out
  5. 60 miles is a fare way to travel just for a clean well mine will be getting valeted once a fortnight and underside and engine bay once a month just like all my old cars. Its nice when u got mates like mine plus it needs it what with the kids and there sticky fingers all over the interior
  6. thanks mate but U wouldn't of said that if U had seen it when I picked it up lol but I help out a mate of mine when he's busy. He runs a valeting company in town so he lets me use his facilities when I need them, this was after a damn good amount of elbow grease lol although I think I'm gonna have to get the carpet shampoo out on the mats coz the dirt is really ground in atm
  7. Yea all declared, hence why its costing me so much compared to my last car which was over 200bhp but that was factory standard except the stereo lol and was alot cheaper than this, although when it comes to renewal time I think I will try a modified or Scooby specialist insurer see if there any cheaper but I just couldn't afford a new deposit so simply updated my existing policy this time
  8. In The mean time I took some of my own pictures today as the ones above are old ones from the previous owner. Hope u enjoy
  9. No they do it all the time even after the 60 mile trip home after getting her. There just standard ferodo pads according to the receipt. I have posted it in the technical section now too mate. It almost seems as though the brake pads/pad is floating. like the fitter lost a retaining spring or something. I guess until I can get the wheel off on sunday I just dont know lol but the brakes seem to stop fine and dont pull to one side or anything.
  10. Thanks "spect" I will investigate that this weekend, unfortunately I won't be able to make this Sunday but the 20th is lookin like a certainty atm lol lookin forward to meetin everyone and a big fry up can only make things better eh lol
  11. Thanks guys, I think I can make the 20th provided all is well with the motor lol I have got my 1st lil problem already, when I break gently or from slow speeds I get very weird creaking noise from the drivers side, the discs and pads were only replaced a month ago which I have reciepted proof of but it just doesn't sound/feel right, any ideas?
  12. Hey guys thanks for the warm welcome, im in Tiverton mid Devon, and im a complete noob when it comes to imprezas so I will no doubt be bending a few ears on things lol
  13. Hi guys and girls my name is Lewis and I thought I would start the new year with a new car. So yesterday on 1/1/2013 I bought myself a scooby. Its only a '98 Impreza 2.0 sport But even with the severe lack of power I love it. I wanted a turbo but insurance is just ridiculous. The cheapest price I got quoted was £2680 for a turbo 2000 even the sport is costing me £240 a year MORE than my last car which was a 230 bhp volvo 850 T5 lol. Anyway here is my new baby. She has 16" speedline wheels wrapped in dunlop sport 9000 rubber, Tein adjustable coilovers, full japspeed stainless exhaust with Japspeed un-even manifold. Door and bootlid swaige lines smoothed and blended, crystal headlight/sidelights, STI momo steering wheel, tinted windows all round.
