  1. would it be possible to make a 1.5 look like this.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-Hawkeye-WRX-STI-Type-UK-2-5-Ltr-06-Plate-/230759703869?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35ba59a53d#ht_500wt_1413
  2. aha, yeah its rather jolly, but tbh im not there yet, a little off :L, but not to far, jsut want a good car, like a subby, to drive and lets be honest, pull some girls in ;L lol, as we all do ahah
  3. Lol! i agree with the 3rd one so mch, i know, soon as i add the body kit, i'll tweak with the wheel,s the the exhaust, and most prob strip out the whole seats, then move onto the engine, with twin turbos, but the second one, i know i won't but i guess you cant take chances :/, are you a police officer by ay chance, with your pp?
  4. lets talk hypothetically here, in 2 different ways. Firstly, if i bought a 2L wrx, what would the insurance be like for me? Secondly, if i bought a 1.5, then did the body kit, and maybe put n a turbo, then the insurance? talking very dreamland here, but just interested
  5. also, how come mods make a car more expensive, if its only a spoiler and body kit and a lick of paint and decals??
  6. Thanks for your adice, yeah, that was what i was thinking as i wrote it. How much do you think i would have to spend to get a scooby ( new term?? never heard of it :L) insured, and would it be more worth my while maybe doing something else? Thanks Mike
  7. Hi everyone!, its been a while since I lasted posted, and ive got a question that id really appreciate if someone could answer Ive got this crazy obsession with Subaru's since I was little , but 4 months ago, I was told on here that i would never get insurance on one for my first car at 17. Which i understood, painfully and looked at other cars, to just get experiences. Until I stumbled across a possible 1.5 impreza, that looks like a wrx sti, adn with a bit of paint and some graphics, fat wheels and a big spoiler, the insurance would be reasonably low, and the car would look like my dream one Here is a link http://www.cars-data.com/en/subaru-impreza-15r-awd-105hp-10943/specs.html Im thinking if i bought one, and did some work on it to make it look like a wrx, with a small pocket of cash, i might get my dream car, sooner than i thought, any ideas? Would the insurance be much lower, are there any other Subaru impreza s, like this one, bigger that i still could get insurance, and what would insurers want? Thanks alot everyone, and its great to be back! regards Mike
  8. Thank you all!!, much appriciated again!, i'll try and get some quotes, Mike MERRY XMAS!
  9. like this guy apart from in subaru blue XD http://www.imprezasport.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=23917&st=0
  10. Hi all!!, Hope your all well!, Just another question about Subarus many off you have already answered for me which i really appriciate, but i thought id ask another question in a difrent way :L. Some of you said about modding which isnt a good idea, but ive noticed which i think is a cheap way of modding and having cheap insurance, which im gunna go for im miserably wrong about!!, So my weird but hopefully wonderful idea........ Buy a Subaru impreza gx sport saloon, without turbo. Then buy a subaru impreza spoiler, the hood and decays, which i estimate to be around £350. Then it looks pridy decent but the engne will be low, i work that out to be around this, again, correct me if im wrong £3000 for the car £350 for the minor mods £2000 hopefully for the insurance, that is my budget, the £2000 for insurance, as my older bro who is doing his test, was tolkd by ma parents was the max price for insurance. What do you think, im sure you understand what i mean, but heres some pics, which i think id like to do And after mods, hopefully to somthing like this...... Sort of :L lol, the best i could find, Thanks alot! Mike And a huge Merry Christmas to you all!!!!!
  11. Thanks all!!!!, makes so much sense, and wow, a lot of detail to think about!, yeah, i understand about the erge just to by one :L ive got it right now!! lol, i'll se what happens, but i think i will end up holding fire untill i get the exsperience i need. Im just about to post another topic about non turbo version, which might annoy some of you, but i thought id better get the oppion on tht, anyhoo, Thank you!
  12. Hi, Ive just joined as I think this is the best time to start saving for one, im currently 15 and starting work, id like to save for a Subaru, but as many people have said getting a Subaru impreza at 17 is not the best option as we think we know how to drive, when we don't, which I fully agree on!, But id still like to see if it would be possible to purchase one and what your views are. Ive always wanted a Subaru Impreza wxr sti in the traditional Subaru blue which I thought would be a doddle to buy as you can get second hand ones for £4000 from a 2003 make. But as I recently learnt, that insurance would cost me a arm and a leg to get, if I can get it. So my real question is, are there any others, i found a Subaru impreza GX sport i believe its called which as I 1.5L I think?, correct me if im wrong. Would the insurance on them be less?, Also ive noticed they don't look the same as the wxr obviously, there similar if you get the saloon version rather than the hatchback, but it doesn't have the grill and the sleek finish, so to sum it up, is there any Subaru, that looks similar to the wxr sti that is cheap to insure at my age, and if not, what else could i do?? Thanks alot Mike
