  1. Hi all, Just a short message to get some advice on setting my car up for different driving conditions and situations. What is the best setting to have my car on in the snow, wet and dry? Also, what are the best settings for accelerations and top end speed? I have an impreza with the intelegent, sport and sport sharp mode so any advice on all these would be of great help. I was in the snow today and kept it in auto but it was sliding around quite a bit. Cheers all, Eddie
  2. Hi Everyone, I hit a pot hole last week and knew i had damaged the front passenger wheel in some way or other. I took my Impreza STI Type UK 08reg to my local Subaru Dealer where i was going to be getting new tyres from them in the next few weeks andyways so thought they could do everything at once. They phoned me up 2 days later and told me the bad news that i had fractured the wheel and needed a new one. The unfortunate thing was that they told me they could no longer get a Prodrive GT1 Alloy anymore but they had one in there showroom which was gold in colour. My wheels are Anthracite in colour, so they told me that they would have the gold one spray painted to my colour. I got home yesterday and noticed where they have put the new tyre on it has taken some of the colour out of the wheel and the gold is showing through. I am unhappy at this and was just wanting to know if Subaru still deal with Prodrive as they told me that Subaru no longer had a GT1 in my colour and that Subaru no longer have anything to do with Prodrive. Is this true and what are your opinions on this? Thanks guys. Eddie
  3. Hi Folks, Thanks for all your replys. A great bit of thinking needs to be done now. I think i will probably invest in a good set of winter tyres. Thanks again for your replys. Eddie
  4. Hi Louis, Thanks for that, I used to run the car on Bridgestones but they didnt seem to last long at all....I though the tyre was a soft compound. Yeah the softer the tyre the better traction you get but not ideal for lasting a few thousand miles. |Not sue what they will be like in the snow and ice though. Thanks, Eddie
  5. Hi Rockster, Thanks for the info....Yeah i am currently running on Pirelli P Zero 245/40 ZR 18 but need an alround change. I had Bridgestone on the last time but they are a bit pricey and didnt last to long either. Thanks for the info though. Eddie
  6. Hi All, Just in need of some help in picking my next set of tyres. I have an STI Type Uk 08 reg and all 4 tyres are getting near the minimum tread. Withg the winter weather getting worse now would be grateful for some help on my new wheels. I would like to know what are the bext tyres for all round weather conditions? Are winter tyres any good and are they ok to run in the summer with winter tyres or am i better just buying 4 all season tyres? Would like to know makes etc and where they are well priced so not paying out a fortune. Thanks folks, Eddie.
  7. Hi Folk, Thanks for all your replys. Yes i am now actively looking for covers on ebay. You would think the subaru themselves would sell them as merchandise but there you go. Anyways thanks for all the info and the side air bags was a good reply and im just about to go and check the seats before i order some. Need to be a good fit for some serious driving back and forward to work....haha Eddie
  8. Hi, Needing to protect my car seats as i am a joiner and have been getting in the car with work trousers on and the seats are starting to get dirty with dust etc.... Just wondered if anyone knows where i could buy good quality seat covers for a STI Type UK 08 reg? Thanks everyone, Eddie
  9. Hi, Its an Impreza sti type uk 08reg. Also, thanks for the info i will go and have a look now on that site. Its really annoying but also embarrassing as it must be wakening up all the neighbours but at least i know its working but just at the wrong times. Thanks again, Eddie
  10. Hi All, My car alarm keeps going off in the middle of the night and wondered if anyone knows why this could be happening? Thanks, Eddie
  11. Hi All, Just a short message to ask if anyones knows what the best Car Insurance Companys are...i have just had my renewal quote through and its £526 for the year. I have a wrx sti 2008 and think this is beyond a joke this time. I am currently with Privilege! Can anyone help? Thanks, Eddie
  12. Hi, thanks for everyones replies. Looks like im going to just have to watch the speed. If any manufacturers are watching this forum they should be looking at inventing a combined sat nav / speed detection system that covers all speed detection ways. I for one would buy one and think it would be a top seller. Thanks again, Eddie
  13. Thanks for that mate....so which model do you use?...and also which model is the one with the built in sat nav?.....does the standalone one detect the radar gun as well as the safety cameras?...there is alot of radar gun action in my area as not many fixed cameras? Thanks, eddie
