  1. As stated at this moment in time i really dont have the free time I`d like to allocate to the club and as such it would be in the best interests of the club for me to step down and make way for someone with free time. Which is what I have done. Lets just hope that this situation does not recurr in future due to further lack of communication.

All the best jon, if you need any pointers you know how to contact me.

  2. John, your absolutely correct, its not your place to say.and there is no meed for me to justify myself to you.

However as you feel the need to make an issue of it on a public forum, lets cover the bases.

I think if you were to remove your head from your buttox for long enough to do your research prior to opening the hole in your face and spewing crud, you`d find that there is more to being an RO than trying to arrange one or two runs. Do your homework my friend. There are a number of events in the history of the Scottish scooby scene which I can proudly say would never have happened if it weren`t for myself and a select few others (i.e. Dougster, Mako, JohnS and a few who are no longer in the club).

Granted these events have been spread over the last eight years or so and in surges. What i can tell you though is that anyone who attended any of the events, be they last year or eight years ago they will all remember them, They are not flash in the pan a run here / a meet there.

Recently and being specific over the last 11 months I have not had as much time as I would have liked to allocate to the club Any time I have posted up events i.e marshalling / trackdays / annual scottish meets the response rate quite frankly has been less than impressive. There are still a hardcore of "the original members" who are even still in regular contact with myself and still enjoying the events which are being arranged. However when multiple posts are sent requesting contact details and the information is not forthcomming or when I call people and they dont return the call, then my hands are pretty much tied.

My details have been available for all to see / contact from day one. Hence why I am dissapointed to read the above. Perhaps the concept of discussion being a two way process has been lost. If there was unrest brewing and I was aware of it,  This post would never have occured..

As for the statement "The whole tayside/angus scooby scene has went to the gutter, i know there a few of us wanting a bit more out of our club than wot you were putting in" that should have been preceeded with an IMHO. As stated " My details have been available for all to see / contact from day one" Yet not once have I had a call from a disgruntled member

I`m sure the right thing for the club will be done in the end [:o]

Re the "Sorry if i have offended " no offence taken, what I would suggest though is that more thought is given to posts before you type them, as someone else might have taken umbridge to the post if they didnt know you were harmless.

  5. Like Gmac said,

If you want to take your car out these are the days to do it. Gotta admit I did spin off at the top of the chicane after overtaking that Lexus however it didn`t delay the proceedings at all. Spin (well clear of anyone) marshal put the yellow flag up, I quickly drove off track, waited for a gap in traffic, then back on, marshal lowered the yellow. No probs caused and minimum delays. Luckily no one was down there with a camera 2 catch it [:$]

    BTW great pix Poah.

  6. Yeah, A belter of a day.  The usual top day we`ve come to expect when John organises it.

Was my first time out in about 18months an what a difference with the track surface (well done Knockhill)

Pity that evo packed up at the end, I`d just nipped out 2 get a last few laps in (ah well jus need 2 add them on next time) [:(]

  10. We had a big club one of these events think it was 2 years back, the venue was the one outside glasgow. An it was a brilliant day. Tryin 2 drive after all the running about like a nut n stuff, was a good larf :D) Go for it folks its an experience if u haven`t done it before. Good luck in gettin this together bandit.

  11. Davie, the early classics were renound for bad earths. The earthing kits available vary quite a bit. The better ones include an earth direct between the block and the ecu. The basics of the kit are to maintain a constant earth over all electrical components which in turn can improve there lifespan and performance by ensuring everything is at the same potential voltage. Hope that clears it up 4 u a bit ;o)
