have you had chance to clean the iac valve yet? i only ask as im having almost exactly the same issues with my 93 wrx but am waiting to order the gasket for the valve before i take it off.

Hi Folks, Im Josh. Just signed up last night as im popping my impreza cherry today and buying an early wrx. its taken me quite a while of resisting, as the place i work at, 3 out of the 4 other folk who work there have impreza's (it was always going to happen wasn't it?!) ive previously been an rwd nissan guy, having had my s13 200sx for over 4 years, but always had a soft spot for impreza's since being at school. the car im buying is a 93 wrx in black with a few subtle mods: k&n cone filter, aftermarket downpipe and exhaust system, uprated fuel pump, colder plugs, forge dump valve and powerchips remap. chassis wise its running on 16" wheels with slightly lowered springs, poly bushed components inc arbs, steering rack and drop links, and a rear strut brace. externally its basically standard apart from a version 5 sti replica spoiler (which i'm undecided about given the pre-facelift front end, but we'll see) im based near Halifax, West Yorkshire and once i get my bearings on the site, looking forward to talking to and meeting more of you folk with the same interest and passion for subarus. cheers.
