About STi.G

  1. Hi guys, I wanted to get some decent tribute window transfers for my car. I understand from Jackie at Prodrive there are no official Mcrae ones available anymore and I've yet to contact RBF. There are loads on Ebay but there's nothing that stands out. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to where to look or who to contact?
  2. Yup all info taken on board! I'm off to halfords on the way home from work to see if I can get a mounting bracket. I have the regulation number plate but there really isn't any way to fix it on which led me to wonder if the previous owner was running it as it was. Still, I've had it a week and been using the forums for only a couple of days and I have already learned a fair amount from what is such a deep fountain of knowledge! Who needs google! Its a learning curve for me and the first car I've owned with either a turbo or more than 200BHP. I did drive a 61 plate STi from Keith Price in Abergavenny and though it was an ok looking car, I was disappointed and couldnt wait to hand it back. Especially when the rev limiter stopped you dead everytime you went to overtake! So yep, number plate will be sorted before friday. New coils go on tomorrow night, then I'll be taking it down to have the new 17" low profiles I've just fitted to my 1994 Honda Prelude swapped over and then by close of play on friday it will be MOT'd taxed and insured and ready for me to go for my first run and I was hoping maybe there was a meet or something on but I can't even see an "East Mids" section in the lists :s
  3. Thanks Supreme I didn't think it was legal but then as it had been previously MOT'd I thought I could have been wrong.
  4. Already done just waiting for the new front springs to arrive wednesday and then its off to the MOT centre. Only had it a week haven't driven it really yet just polished it and sat behind the wheel smiling lots!
  5. Hi guys, I know the picture isn't very clear, but if you look hard enough you can see the "sticker" number plate on the front lip below the radiator grill. The normal number plate is currently in the windscreen and with the car being MOT'd on friday I really didn't want it failing on something so trivial. Can anyone tell me whether or not this is legal?
  6. Hi Guys, I sent Subaru the details from the plate in the engine bay, though I don't know which info was most relevant as everything with in Japanese! There are stickers in the front and rear windscreens, but again these are all in Japanese. I don't know if they will be able to help but who knows. As for posting them here, I will do tomorrow. I wrote them straight into my blackberry from the plate so don't have them to hand at the moment.
  7. Hi guys! Having grown up on the stages with my dad following the WRC I formed a love for Subaru at an early age. My father and I had a prestigious boast that between 1989 and his death in 2006 we had been to every British rally and would follow it from start to finish every year as well as attending as many British championship events as school/work would allow. My dad bought RB5 no. 294 (T703 AOK) in 2001 which was replaced in 2003 by a new WRX estate (hitting 60 he had decided that he needed to be a little more sensible and make room for grandkids and dogs!!) from Keith Price Subaru in Crickhowell nr Abergavenny. For my birthday last year I my mum treated myself to a tour of Prodrive and thanks to Jackie I had an amazing and emotional time, sitting in the WRC cars of both Richard Burns and Colin Mcrae. Both of whom as a child and an adult I had watched with awe and excitement as I know you all have and this only furthered my love for the mark. Finally last week after what seems like a lifetime of saying "one day...." I bought my first Impreza. It requires a bit of love, and a new set of front coils but I love it and cannot wait until it is ready for me to have my first proper drive. With the parts arriving on Wednesday it should be fully road legal by saturday and as you can imagine it can't come soon enough! I will look forward to joining SIDC as a full member as soon as the expenses of the purchase and the work subside a little and payday comes and will look forward even more to joining you guys at future meets and events. I do not know much about the car itself and unfortunately was given very little paperwork about it. I know its a jap import and the turbo-timer and boost gauge fitted tell me that its probably a little more than standard though until I get a reply from Subaru with regard the car I can't say much else. But one thing is for sure, its my first steps on a road I have been waiting for for a very long time and I look forward to taking them as part of SIDC and with you guys!
