About roger364

  1. The only thing I can help with is the gurgling noise inside the cabin - I'm on my third scoob, and all 3 of them made this noise - I believe the heater matrix for the cabin heating is down there - my current sti gurgles quit a bit at times, but I have not got a blown head gasket - hope you get an answer for the bubbles in your tank.
  2. My car has a Milltek decat system - yes extra noise, but a terrible drone in the cabin for long journey's. You should really get a remap for the particular bits that you fit, but the car will look after itself and 're-map'itself thanks to the lambda sensor, so no particular rush. If you can tolerate the cabin noise then just go for it.
  3. Nice one -phoned Gary Moulson, got £250 excess and better cover with all my mods replaced if they get damaged - £695 - tidy job! Thank you SIDC.
  4. Depending on where you live - if your South Westish region, then the PowerStation at Gloucester are worth a go, highly experienced and they have a 4x4 rolling road to set your car up. - I wouldn't bother with the PPP on a 7 year old WRX, if it's not set up on a rolling road then you don't know what your actually getting for all that money. But be careful - one you have owned a Scooby - you never be able to live without one !
  5. It was £750 with Direct line - It's now £250 with Swinton - any suggestions ?
  6. I use Castrol Edge 10W/60 on my hawkeye with 364 bhp - this may be considered to be a bit thin, but any Fully Synthetic Oil changed frequently will do you fine - Don't bother with a Semi Synthetic.
  7. I will give Gary Moulson a ring tomorrow - fingers crossed
  8. Phoned around loads - Adrian Flux wants £1200 - ended up going through Swinton and got it for £930 - still nearly double last year - I declare all the mods, haven't claimed in 20 years of driving, clean licence - so much for being honest
  9. Hi everyone! - Just re-joined the club after many years away. Just got my renewal from direct line, it was for my hawkeye STI with a few mods -last year it was £550, this year they refused to quote me because they no longer insure cars with dump valves (?) - If I took the dump valve off then they were willing to take £1400. Got a few other quotes from others - all around the £1200 mark - has something happened in the last 12 months to the insurance industry? I haven't claimed - I thought it may have come down this year?
