  1. If you think Transport 2000 are advocating a nanny state, have a look at this American website Film Reviews They score all popular films based on language, violence, sex etc. Nothing new there, you may think. However just read some of the reviews;- Babe - pig in the city was marked down dues to;- realistic trauma and injury inappropriate dress punk/hood manerisms, purse snatching "Take care of #1" sadness from loss of caregiver gunfire at a story character threats to achieve good favor the use of God's name in vain without the four letter expletive imagery of animal control police as brutal imagery of out of body experience, resurrection adult underwear twice hanging onto an ambulance while riding a bike If you take a moderately violent film like xXx it goes off the scale and they have to include spiritual references to help you cope with the trauma of watching it.
  2. Very interested also - email me at dgfarmer at modus-scotland.co.uk if they are still available.
  3. Cal I was talking to you just before you left AWD. I left a few minutes later and saw your car at the side of the roundabout. You freind indicated that you were OK and I didn't think you wanted an audience at theat particular moment. Really sorry a good day at AWD finished like that, But as you say Sh*t happens, and I can add "Been there, done that" David

  7. I just got my WRX last week - a 2003 model supplied by Drive Subaru, Falkirk who had just serviced the vehicle. A couple of times it had a strange problem that when leaving the car an shutting a door the alarm would sound (alarm not set). I found then found that things like the clock and the trip counter had also reset themselves. All set to go back to the dealer, but thought I'd have a look under the bonnet first and found the battery lead was hanging off and just touching the battery. Tightened it up and all seems fine. I then checked the tyre pressures and found the rear tyres were inflated to 18psi - have now inflated them to standard. Otherwise the car is great, but I'm not too sure I want to return the car for servicing. Does anyone know of any independant Scobbie specialists in the Central area?. Also what is the impact on Subaru warranty - I know it is against EU laws to insist that servicing must be carried out by dealers to keep warranty, but has anyone any direct experience of this. David

  11. Thanks - you are right given the cost of the car, insurance, servicing etc. no point penny-pinching on the fuel.
  12. Jus collected my 03 WRX yesterday. Awesome car - I know its not as fast as the various STi, special editions and modified ones that most of you own, but its still an impressive car. I took the unusual step (for me) of reading the manual last night and just wanted to check a couple of things;- The manual says that when the heater control is turned to either Windscreen or Windscreen and Footwell that the Air Con is automatically switched on to help clear the windscreen. Is this correct? The Air Con light does not come on so I wondered if it actual does this or not. Seems a stange feature, but then Subaru did once build a car that linked the 4wd to the windscreen wipers! The other thing concerned fuel. I am not going to ask about fuel consumption, I found many other threads on the subject and actuals seem to vary widely - I'll just need to wait and see. I did want to ask about fuel grade. The petrol flap says 98 RON only, but the manual says you can run it on 95 but performance may suffer. What is the collective wisdom of the forum (if there is such a thing) Does everyone use Optimax? Thanks in advance and hopefully I'll get to the next meet. David
  13. Found someone called Dave Perch who has Canada's largest collection of Ginger Beer bottles Link but I don't suppose its the same person - Sorry
